OT: Sidney Crosby vs Steven Stamkos popularity in Toronto area

Stamkos mainly because he is an Ontario boy so it makes sense for him to be well like in Toronto.

Yup up in Markham just in Toronto's backyard, playing for local teams growing up. Kid's a beauty.

I get that Leaf fan vibe from Stamkos like with Lindros that makes me think he'll end up here at some point in his career. Definitely wishful thinking though.

I'm in the group that thinks Crosby's a great player, but a whiny *****, so I don't like him. Stamkos is the clear winner for me. Though, Crosby still gets more love than Stamkos in Canada, let's be honest, we are way more likely to see a Crosby jersey on the streets than a Stamkos...

<3 Stamkos, but you can't deny what Crosby's done, both in the NHL and on the international stage. Guy's ridiculous. 4th highest PPG of all time playing in an era where the goalies and defensive systems are the best they've ever been. One of the greatest players to ever lace 'em up.

His contract runs out summer 2016. Right on time for the 100th anniversary of the organization, and our 2017 Stanley Cup triumph, 50 years after 1967... One can dream.

That would be foolish. By the time Crosby was Tavares' age, he had already won a Hart, and Art Ross, was a Cup winning captain, and was working on his third 100 pt season, which would have been his fourth had he not missed some games.

JT hasn't even been a PPG until this year.
