Sidney Crosby hasn't won an Art Ross trophy after his age 26 season. Neither has McDavid. Will McDavid win more still?

Both McDavid & Crosby won their last Ross at age 26. Will McDavid win another Art Ross?

He most likely will. Crosby only didn’t win one in 2015 because of injury and he was extremely close in 2017 again, I think his ppg was like .1 below McDavid that year.

Crosby's last Art Ross was at age 26 (his 9th season); McDavid's most recent was at age 25 (his 8th season).

They're only the same age if you're using the weirdo Hockey-Reference age cut-off.

McDavid played 43 games at 25 and 39 at 26 in that season. I don’t see why it’s more correct to say one or the other.

It depends how motivated McDavid is to go all out in the regular season awards along with how his competition(Kuch, Mack) will age. Mackinnon's style in particular worries me because his "I will run through you" style is taxing on the body, and I'm not sure he has enough Hockey IQ to be in contention once his speed declines. I believe next season is the last time Mack challenges for the Ross but then again he takes conditioning super seriously. I also don't believe Chicago can put enough talent around Bedard for the next 4 years in order for him to challenge McDavid.

It doesn't matter much in terms of the OP but it is better to say Crosby won in his 9th season while McDavid won in his 8th season.

McDavid certainly put an end to Crosby ever thinking about winning a scoring race again, but let’s not get carried away. Crosby quickly fell to mortals like Benn and Tavares the season after winning his last, and then got absolutely annihilated by Kane (while finishing behind Benn again). McDavid put the nail in the coffin and then Crosby was never even close again. His highest finishes since are a distant fifth and a pair of #10 finishes. It was over for him, regardless of who came down the pipeline.
Right....part of the point was....what will happen to McDavid now in the next 5 years? At the same point in their careers, there should have been expectations that Crosby would compete for more scoring titles and he did for a couple years.....there is expectation McDavid will as well (including this year).....but there is no guarantee it doesn't turn out the same for him.
