It is mostly trivia (when you look how-why someone like Sakic did not do it, would a couple more points there or there, change or mean anything) but it show that you need to leave some room by being a significantly over ppg player for a long time for it to happen, otherwise the bad puck luck-bad PP this year, etc... make you go under by a little bit at least once.
You also need timing, Sakic saw scoring going down significantly has he aged, Crosby was lucky that scoring got extremely low when he was fully in his prime, and was really high when he was a rookie and when he was old.
Would he do it 20 times, more than Gretzky than it would be quite something, because anything more than Gretzky that is not goals related, regardless of what it is and the league condition is kind of crazy to do.
Bourque doing it at his position 14 time in a row... or Howe (17) to do it when he did could still be seen has more impressive.
But yeah anything in raw numbers and anything that is binary over some made up threshold is mostly trivia, same for 50 goals in 50 games, number of 100 pts season and so on.
