He absolutely did not. Still a decent pick though.Sidney Crosby surpassed the expectations that people had for him when he was drafted.
I think he'd be damn close to 1800 points, if not surpassed, if he didn't miss 200+ games due to injuries in his career.
He did it in fewer games than like half of the top 10, including Sakic, Yzerman and Messier. He absolutely did not. Still a decent pick though.
Oh I thought you were talking about his overall level of performance in his career. I can't say I had any expectations regarding his total of pts in his career. He did it in fewer games than like half of the top 10, including Sakic, Yzerman and Messier.
Yeah, decent pick. He's only won everything that can be won in the sport. He absolutely did not. Still a decent pick though.
He needs to go back in time and win the calder for that, and be sent to the AHL to win the calder cup.Yeah, decent pick. He's only won everything that can be won in the sport.
I'll take the bait...what were you expecting that Sid has not lived up to?Oh I thought you were talking about his overall level of performance in his career. I can't say I had any expectations regarding his total of pts in his career.
And what would you say the expectation were for Crosby in that regard ?He did it in fewer games than like half of the top 10, including Sakic, Yzerman and Messier.
The only players to do it in fewer games are Gretzky, Lemieux, Dionne and Jagr.
He was the most hyped prospect since Lindros. The hopes were for him to be hands down the best player in the league for a long stretch. He was regarded as the best , but like a poster said previously he unfortunately got slowed down by injuries in the period where it looked like he was about to dominate the league. Satisfying career of course, but he did not exceed expectations.I'll take the bait...what were you expecting that Sid has not lived up to?
If we gave him his 282 games back at his peak before the major injuries hit him, he would be right now just shy of 2000 points (give or take 10 away)And what would you say the expectation were for Crosby in that regard ?
He is one of the best and most hyped prospect ever.
Someone could argue that despite being one of the most hyped prospect he did almost met all of them, because of the game missed during his peak "just" 2 Art Ross-hart is maybe below some expectation, but he compensated by better prime longevity.
He would have if there wasn't a lockout. Ovechkin's rookie season probably would have been 2004-05 otherwise (assuming Ovie would have come over from Russia at 18 which I guess is not a guarantee), and Ovie surely would have won the Calder in 04-05 instead, had that season been played. He needs to go back in time and win the calder for that, and be sent to the AHL to win the calder cup.
