Online Series: Shrinking

Watched the first few episodes, consistent funny stuff but I just miss the traditional 22 minute sitcom that I'd watch and be done with.

This is a bit exhausting when you're older I dunno.

Man tonights episode was so good... Ending was tough to watch but in a good way, Jason and Harrison deserve major Emmy considerations for this series. Unbelievable work from those two.

Finale next week, I'm expecting more really heavy scenes.

We took advantage of Apple TV's free weekend, and binged both seasons. Just fantastic and Harrison Ford is awesome. A lot of other good options with Apple TV, so we may look to sign up soon.

Its easily the best streaming site around IMO.

Shrinking, Severance, and Ted Lasso are all top, top notch series and Black Bird was a great limited series. I personally haven't watched Silo or Slow Horses but they also have excellent reviews.

They don't have a lot of material, but most of what they do have is legitimately fantastic.

I think Severance is about to become the next GOT in terms of being a cultural phenomenon.

Is there going to be another massive wait for the next season? I think that could undercut cultural cache.

Dont know, but I highly doubt it. The massive wait this time around was almost entirely because of the writers strike.

Apple so far has been pretty good at getting shows out in reasonable time frames and Severance also doesn't necessarily have all these big sets or a number of different areas they'd need to film like GOT had.

We'll have to just wait and see but I dont see any reason why Severance cant be every 2 years if not even quicker(Most shows these days are every 2nd year).

For reference, Ted Lasso went as follows: Season 1 August 2020, Season 2 July 2021, Season 3 March 2023. So about 11 months between Season 1 and 2, and then about 20 months between season 2 and season 3. Shrinking just had ~20.5 months between season 1 and 2, and Silo had 19 months from Season 1 to 2. Slow Horses actually averages a new season every ~10 months, but they also only have 6 episode seasons.

All that to say I'd expect Severance(And Shrinking since we're here in the Shrinking thread) to start producing seasons probably around every 18 months?
