instead of showtime his nickname should be nonchalant. He makes it look so easy.

As a Wings fan I'm glad to be on the winning side of these after so many years of being infuriated watching him glide in slowly in the shootout.

Surprised that no one has enlightened us with the fact that he passed his old buddy Jonathan Toews with this goal.

Top Ten:

Kane (53)
Toews (52)
Frans Neilson (49)
TJ Oshie (49)
Joe Pavelski (47)
Sidney Crosby (46)
Radim Vrbata (45)
Parise (44)
Kopitar (43)
Koivu (42)

Sid takes it by the time he's done?

None of my friends watch hockey but when show em some Patrick Kane action they go absolutely nuts. McDavid for example will get some oohs and aahs but nobody freaks out like they do w Kane, especially on the shootout goals

Think it's the way he slows down + pulls and drags the puck. Very controlled and effortless a lot of the time

That was filthy and honestly, I'm surprised he had to surpass Toews for the lead all-time; I assumed he was always the leader in that category since the mid 2010s or something.

If it's not Sid then I imagine nobody will, barring a Toews comeback. New players likely won't get enough attempts with 3 on 3 OT.

Kane would get more attention for flashy moves but he was usually around low 40%. Toews used to score at 50% on the shootout. His main goto was scoring 5-hole so it was never hyped as flashy.

Be pretty tough for Crosby to pass it.

Assuming he plays 2 more seasons and retires he's have to be in 16 shootouts and scoring at 50% to pass Kane.

Half of NHL teams this year will be in 5 or less shootouts. Being in 16 shootouts over the next 2 years is a big long shot.

I didn’t know Toews was that good in the shootout
