It often tends to be a real two-way street. Good coaches will have their teams playing good, defensively responsible hockey that helps to insulate a goaltender and flatter them. But truly great goaltending can also really flatter a coach by covering up for some holes in the team/systems. Where you get the real big gains is when you pair a great goalie with a well coached team...and it makes both look even better.

Looks like 8 of the last 11 were gone in 2 years.

Seems pretty normal that they would get one grace season to recover their lucky touch before being fired the second.
If you actually looked at the list of winners and their teams’ circumstances, you’d see how inaccurate that is.

Yes. Statistically they are most likely to be fired within 2 years of winning the Jack Adams

2023: Jim Montgomery, Boston Bruins - fired 2024
2022: Darryl Sutter, Calgary Flames - fired 2023
2021: Rod Brind'Amour, Carolina Hurricanes
2020: Bruce Cassidy, Boston Bruins - fired 2022
2019: Barry Trotz, New York Islanders
2018: Gerard Gallant, Vegas Golden Knights - fired Jan 2020
2017: John Tortorella, Columbus Blue Jackets
2016: Barry Trotz, Washington Capitals - not re-signed in 2018
2015: Bob Hartley, Calgary Flames - fired 2016
2014: Patrick Roy, Colorado Avalanche - left 2016
2013: Paul MacLean, Ottawa Senators - fired 2014
This list is at least a little skewed because of how stupid the Bruins are.
