He has ties to Tocchet, and his wife is accused, and he's now on the hotseat and obviously lying.

It should be enough to get him outta there.

Well, Tocchet is his assitant coach, so yeah, he's got ties, and Janet has been accused, but everyone knows you're innocent until proven guilty, further more no charges will ever be laid against Janet.

Thirdly, he never lied ever, he said he had nothing to do with it, and he didn't, he said he didn't bet, and he didn't, and when asked if his wife bet he said talk to her, so you're completely wrong on all accounts.

We all know you just don't like Wayne Gretzky because he's probably beat your favorite team 1000 times, and you don't like Hockey Canada because whatever country you cheer for always gets beat by them. This sad little routine you have won't stop them from doing what they do.

:biglaugh: If Wayne told you he could walk on water, would you believe that too?

Man, you're gullable

Man, you're gullable

Please, show us the evidence that he was betting and was a major part of the gambling ring.

I'll wait.

PS: "He told the press" doesn't count ;)

Burden of evidence falls on the accuser, anyone who is intelligent knows that, further more, they know that you're innocent until proven guilty, even more importantly, Gretzky and his wife have been charged with no crimes, no will they be.

For example, I can't just say that you're a pedophile and then say prove you're not, because that is impossible, the burden lays on me to prove it that you are a pedophile with evidence, for example if you have child pornography or something.

In this case, it is impossible to prove that Gretzky has not been gambling just as it is impossible to prove that I am not Santa Clause. Therefore, the burden of proof lies on the accusers to prove that he was betting, and no evidence has been presented that he has gambled, or that he lied.

You are not intelligent though, so I don't expect you to understand.

Yeah, but you have no reason to accuse me of being a pedophile.

There is good reason to accuse Wayne of illegally gambling.

Whatever you say, pedophile.

Now try to prove to me that you're not.

And guilt by association isn't logical.

And if you think that this is about gambling you're insane, if they didn't let gamblers to the Olympics then only about 10% of hockey players would be allowed to go, they all gamble with cards and golf with big money, thats not an issue.

wow, um guy from ukraine, here is a hint for you: shut up before you get owned by many others on this board. oh, and you still havent proved your not a pedophile. so, were waiting for you to prove your not! if you have intelligence you can clearly see that is impossible to prove something if your not involved in it. unless of course you can let other people inside of your brain or something.

Do you even read into what you're talking about?

Not letting Wayne go has nothing to do with the legal implications, and everything to do with not carrying the media frenzy with him to distract the players.

Should they take the team away from him? If he is legally connected to the gambliing ring, then yes. Otherwise, no.

Should he stay home? Yes. Unfortunately Wayne is selfish and wants to be in the limelight.

I thought that Wayne had no effect on the players and the dressing room?

Wayne has 0% effect on the dressing room.

I'm talking about the media circus that will be Torino should Wayne go.

Well, since nobody has even reported on the issue in Turin yet, there might be like one afternoon of a media talks with Gretzky, but nobody really cares because its a non-issue.

And now again its time to prove he was legally connected to the gambling ring, again I'll wait.

This comment is baseless, much like the rest. There's no selfishness involved whatsoever.

There is no legitimate reason for Gretzky to go to Torino, knowing full well that his presence will cause a distraction for the players.

Says who? you? A distraction for the media maybe, which is only a good thing for the team. I am sure they wont mind if Gretzky is getting the attention, takes some pressure off.

yeah, media frenzy about gretzky being tied to an illegal bookmaking ring is really condusive to taking the pressure off :biglaugh:

Obviously you don't understand the media attention the team faces from here in Canada. Last time around Gretzky spoke out and took alot of that media attention away from the players, and it seemed to help as they turned things around after a poor start.

Did Gretzky harm you in a previous life, why do you have this personal vendetta against him? Or is it the fact that you jumped all over media reports that he lied and now look like a fool?
