Been 7 wins in a row and they actually have a shot at winning the Atlantic now......

I know making huge waves at the deadline can be overrated sometimes but Brisebois has done pretty good work at the deadline and he's been fearless as a GM.....

Some of their key guys are 30 or over now but i think with Vasi getting his game back after his surgery i think the window is still wide open for a bit longer......

Was do you guys think and what do the Tampa fans think they should do this upcoming week ?

In a best of 7, I still think Florida/Carolina/Washington would all be favored, and they would be in a pick 'em type series against Toronto/NYR/NJD

So no, they should stay the course.

If Vasi truly is back on his game that closes all gaps though.....

They went and got Guentzel and McDonagh........Really no point bringing them there if you're not gonna go all in to try and win with them right ?

If they get Vasilevskiy from the start of 2025 in the playoffs then nobody is beating them. If they get the Vasilevskiy from last years playoffs they're out in round 1.

They do have very good assets to trade. A 2026 1st is better than 2025 as this draft isn't highly thought of. They also have Geekie who's a blue chip and Howard who's just outside that level. But I don't see anything on the trade market that would have me trade 2 of those 3 for.

I agree with most of that...........We'll see how the week progresses as far as what names are available for them.......

3 full years removed from a Cup, 2 from a Final appearance, and have gone out in the 1st rd the last 2 years. With, as you say, a roster full of older players. Many on long term, huge contracts.

Their realistic window is probably long gone, but of course they should go as big and as a fast as they can. In whatever limited capacity they can actually pull anything off. They're not in this for 5 years from now.

We should and we will, we have plenty of cap space and some pretty identifiable needs. We also definitely have the assets to make moves and are in a position where we have plenty of cap space this off-season (with literally no one to re-sign) to either sign the rentals or take on a player with term.

We have like $5m in cap space. JBB is a creative guy as we've seen. Really need a middle six winger to add some scoring depth at least. Shouldn't be impossible. Folks are sleeping on the vastly improved 5on5 play and goal differential as well as Vasi.

Probably not a big move? Perhaps deal a 2nd or lesser to get a rental for L2, like how the Wild got Nyquist just now. The big pieces are all still there and it's squarely that timing to make a move for another big run.

They’ve taken steps back since 2022 but I actually think they’re better this year. I’d say why not and try go for a run since the East is wide open this year.
