I didn't watch the game, but I made sure to watch the clip before replying.

How is this worthy of its own thread, let alone a poll?

Yes, it was cheap and unnecessary.
And?
They got the two points. Move on to the next game.

If people wanna vent for a day or two in the GDT, have at it I guess. But what's the purpose in creating a dedicated spot just to call for a suspension? Actual discussion would be things like who should be in the lineup for chippy games, or who a good trade target would be to bolster that aspect of the roster.

I would expect more of the same from Tampa, given that their window is closing and they're playing very frustrated hockey. Not saying it's ok, just that it's expected. Detroit has plenty of encouraging things to focus on as their window opens in the coming years - not really a need for more than a laugh over our shoulder at the Tampas and Pittsburghs of the world, who are just about to begin the painful years.

I'd argue that's why the DOPS exists. They exist to govern when players, in the of the moment of competition, fail to uphold the standard of the league.

I don't think this is as big game as the last one, but it's a big game as we have to catch up to other teams.
The game is also interesting because because of the coaches.
The bolts played last night and almost lost the game to the Hawks, they just scored 3 PP goals.

I hope this game gets very physical and Seider or Chiarot level Kucharov

This is what I wrote before the game, but now I hope even more someone goes after him.

I think the team will benefit from developing some kind of rivalry.

The act itself isn't suspension worthy. It is something that happens it every game.

However the timing and the behavior shown at that time in the game is totally suspension worthy.

Yes. I think he should get a game. It's a stupid, dangerous thing to do that clearly can result in injury. And it's not like it was accidental. I'd argue there's more thought going into that than when a lot of guys chicken wing a guy or stick their leg out.

It's also the sort of thing the NHL should come down on if they don't want to encourage players policing themselves. But the NHL is going to NHL and stuff like this is going to look more acceptable than dropping the gloves and holding guys accountable. People are saying Seider or Chariot should get more physical next game...just go out and board someone and 50/50 you won't even get called for it and the league will do nothing.

A similar infraction with the goalie in is not suspension worthy. Nor would he even do it with the goalie in and risk injury to Vasy. With an EN. the deliberate swipe/push at Ras' skate that close to net posts and boards is clearly worth a one-game suspension. Mickey called it "a nasty, nasty play" and unnecessary. As with most things, he's right. A Mickey double-nasty should mean suspension.

This team needs a rivalry very bad and here is the chance. This team plays better when they are physical and emotional.
He plays 25+ min, so it should not be difficult to get him. I believe the next game vs the bolts will make a lot of buzz. If we are close to making playoffs, this game will be huge.

gunna be honest, this is a major problem on this forum. discuss hockey, but dont talk about the things i dont want to be talked about or ill get mad about it. just ignore the thread if it bugs you that much.

It would be better if one of our players gets a suspension after destroying Kucherov the next game. Blatantly dirty plays should be rewarded with blatantly dirty plays right back. Kuch has been doing this for years because nobody in the league does shit to him.

Had it been added to the game thread, I would have just ignored it as you suggested. Giving it its own thread comes across as 1) excessive whining and 2) putting emphasis on a brief negative (the chop) in an otherwise very positive outcome (a win with the kids playing well).

People can still comment all they want. I'm not demanding to close the thread or anything. But for perspective, imagine the roles were reversed: another team created a poll for whether a Detroit player should be suspended even though that other team won the game. How would Wings fans view it? Would anybody here advocate for freedom to discuss any and all issues? Or would most fans roll their eyes and just say pipe down?
