Carolinas Identity*
I'm a bad troll...
Serious thread.
I always end all of my GDTs with a silly selfie of myself doing something comically over the top for your guys' entertainment, and I post other ones here and there for the same reason. The same way I make asinine posts here and there on purpose to liven up stale threads. This site is about entertainment as much as it is about anything else after all, otherwise people wouldn't come here. If all you wanted were cold hard facts and numbers, there are better and easier places to get them. This is a thriving community of people from all walks of life and all backgrounds etc, who can come here and discuss everything from hockey, to how Masao cleans his oven (while it's on) with balled up paper towels on a stick, and everything in between.
Next month, I will have been a member here for six years, I am certainly not "old school" by any stretch of the imagination, but I guess I would called myself "seasoned"
Just about everything I do on this site is for all y'all to enjoy/put a smile on your face/make you giggle a bit. Over and above the 'Page 2' boards, I am a regular poster on several teams boards, the main boards, try to organize fun things to get people talking. The annual Carolina Bandwagon Playoff Drafts seem to be hits and generate a lot of interest on several boards, etc, etc, but I'll stop.
That said. It has come to my recent attention (from several sources who shall remain nameless) that some people are not fans. Be it the selfies, the posting, my personality, etc.
I will freely admit that the combination of my sense of humor and personality will occasionally lead me over the line, 98% of the time, unintentionally, but still, over the line.
I enjoy being a part of this community, but would I be a better member if I cut out the selfies, made fewer GDTs, and stuck to a more cut and dry basic approach? I'll never fully change, and I will always be a little bit silly, but I can easily reign in a lot of what I do since it seems to (unintentionally) ruffle more than a few feathers, even though all I try to do, is generally bring a bit of levity to the boards.
Regards
