Despite the win, I feel the Jackets outplayed the Ducks for much of the game. Team still looks confused and lost most of the time. Cro needs to go.

I think the Ducks had good chances and are looking better on the PP. However, they are a mess in the defensive zone and in the neutral zone. Cronin is supposed to be a defense minded coach. The issue outlined by the players is matching the eye test. So many times in games, a player gets full control, pulls his head up to look, and there is no one to pass to. That's a structure and coaching issue. Many players need to be better, but the Blue Jackets shouldn't be dominating in the stretches they had in the game.

Chicago just fired their coach , Bedard has been struggling. Our kids are struggling yet Cronin is likely not going anywhere till at least this summer.
Cronin is gonna be spared because of the injuries and be given enough season to suck out all the talent from these guys. Sennecke better stay far away from this team until Cronin is gone

Our forward kids are struggling, but most of our defensive kids are improving to looking good. I do wonder if Minty is actually injured, but we're just calling it a healthy scratch b/c Minty will be scratched for a second consecutive game. Verbeek said Vaak was day-to-day and then when an IR spot opened up when Fowler returned, then Vaak went onto IR. I don't trust our medical staff now.

Cronin isn't going anywhere this season. We need a more offensive-minded head coach because we have a lot of young, finesse offensive forwards that need to be cultivated at the NHL level. We can keep PK coach Thompson to continue developing our young blueliners.

What I'm afraid of is Verbeek being ecstatic about this season and will keep Cronin around for another season.

How can this continue? He's lost, and the team is a mess. The things he's helped some players improve with aren't unique enough for me to believe another coach can't do the same thing. There is no one in house that I want to replace him. Verbeek needs to find a competent, experienced coach.

Just have to bump this. There is absolutely no incentive in keeping this doofus around. He is clueless ("I don't know ™️"), obnoxious ("Zegras needs to play better defensively"), unjust (Mintyukov to the press box) and outright unlikable in pretty much every metric possible.

Not to mention the on-ice product is abysmal AGAIN, and this roster should be at least 10-15 points ahead by this time of the season compared to where they are now.

No matter if Dusty let in a softie last night; if it weren't for him, would we have even less points than we do.

The lack of team offense is inexcusable. It's one thing if players are struggling individually, but this is a team issue. They are not good enough defensively to justify the lack of offense.

The easiest way to look at the situation is through Cronin's own statements. At the end of last season, he said he stopped coaching for the final group of games to get a better look at the team. In general, the team played better. This season, after an entire summer of planning, Cronin's system didn't work for a 2nd time. No big; he changed it again. We are now on his 3rd attempt, and it's still awful.

To sum up, it is clear that his systems are actively and negatively affecting the team to the point where no coaching at all was better. Cronin admits daily he has no idea what to do. Players are not improving as a whole and prospects are riding the bench. He has to go.

Roster sucks, all it would do is create more instability and put the new coach in a position to fail. Wait until the offseason

The roster doesn't suck this badly though. They have the capacity to be higher in the standings. I would argue the new coach would have a longer leash. Finish out the season and try next year fresh. Less pressure to compete since the season is already a wash. Maybe wake up the offense and have players excited about improving in the summer for next season.

This is just speculation
Well Fowler & Gibson both want out. Lyubushkin didnt like playing for him either. You can call it speculation for anyone else but its clear there are serious problems just from watching the team then you have the Chiclets info

Yeah I think good coaches have elevated rosters like this a heck of a lot more than we are seeing. I don't see a lot of talent separating us from some of the teams hanging around the mid pack of the league or at least ahead of us - Philly, Columbus, Ottawa, Utah etc. We could be more competitive on a nightly basis or at least have a better culture building.
