Should Bunting be put back into the lineup?

We have been badly outplayed so there is no reason for him not come back in

I can only go by what I see watching game at rink .. game 3 we got outplayed pretty much all night long but Sammy held us in in .. Tampa expended a ton of energy and they were not rewarded .. and then ROR took game into his warrior hands with power at net and then clean faceoff win and then total screen of Vasi for Rielly winner .. then game 4 Tampa comes out like a house of fire again and takes lead .. but sometime in 2nd period you could see Tampa was running out of gas (you can really see it well in da backchecking which breaks down 1st when you get tired) and Leafs started to tilt ice .. by 3rd it was obvious Tampa was out of gas .. and we handed them their lunch all 3rd period long ..

Bottom line I see series 2 games Tampa outplayed us and 2 games we outplayed them .. this is watching each game live at rink .. this is without tending factored in .. bottom line Sammy won us game 3 and ROR finished them off .. this is why series is 3 to 1 ..

And i heard enough from da TO guys in Tampa who watch them game in game out all season long to know even they think Tampa has run out of gas .. i hope so and they cave in game 5

A younger version of Vassy does not allow game #3 ROR and game #4 Rielly tying goals among others. Tampa's D no longer deep enough to help him out. Bet they regret moving McDonaugh but it had to be done.

Outplayed in game 1 and 3 and the first period of game 4.

Leafs not outplayed last night. By any metric or stat or final score
 
Hopefully not, but they will probably put him in. I just don’t like him. People complain about other teams players, Bunting is the biggest clown of all of them

Seriously?

They got their lunch fed to them in game one , and eeked out games three and four with OT wins they had no business winning. They won and that’s what matters, but don’t think for a minute that they deserved to win.

He’s their 5th leading scorer, add in the fact that I could see Tampa taking stupid penalty on him, you have to play him
 
Bunting has to be in the lineup. His penance for costing the team, is taking all sorts of punishment from Tampa without reacting and/or embellishing. Either the referee’s call Tampa or not, but either way, Bunting will be a distraction to the Lightning…. Especially if he were to score.

if there was an "I don't know", I would have picked that.

He makes the Leafs better if he plays his game and doesn't cross the line, it gives us a better top 9 and a better 4th line (assuming Kerfoot will be 4th line LW with Kampf and Lafferty), but do you risk it?

No matter what Keefe does, if we lose the next one he is going to be called an idiot for his decision.

I think it is a really tough decision... I think ultimately Keefe will put him in, but not sure that I would.

Bunting had been trending downwards in the few games of the season. Also, he absolutely sucks defensively and needs to be sheltered. Who in your top9 are you taking out or putting on the 4th line?
Jankrok? Kerfoot? Acciari? Knies? Nylander? Marner?

the current 4th line has chemistry you don't want to F with it, especially with last change, at home and a chance to close out the series. Bunting is not a defensive or offensive juggernaut

Last night that was a 50/50 game.
 
Keefe is using our 4th in the defensive role a lot. They played many minutes against tampas top line. I can't see slotting Bunting in a defensive role as a good idea. Kerfoot is the only guy I'd replace for Bunting but I don't see it happening

The 4th line has been our worst line by a fair bit.

Not sure if it is cause Tampa's 4th has been playing well or because ours is just not that good, but pushing Kerfoot down I think makes it better.

Or since he'll be up against Maroon and Perry and will get destroyed physically, his only way to defend himself might be cross checking them in the face and getting suspended again?

Agreed. Last night's game is being overblown as Tampa dominance. They owned the 1st period, 2 period was evenly played. Leafs dominated from the 3rd on.

The point I’m trying to make is that he understands that he CANNOT retaliate in those situations anymore.

He knows that he needs to be prepared to get abused. Part of his job will be to go out there and entice the Lightning into taking dumb penalties.

By making some good clean hits and just being a presence in front of the net, is going to drive the Lightning nuts! When they start taking cheap shots at him, he skates away… which will incense them even more!

Bunting knows that he won’t see the ice again if he does anything stupid. He has a real opportunity to contribute in a few ways to help this team close out this round.

Yes. It's working. They went through hell together and over came.

BUNTING, like it or not...is going to get penalized. And Tampa's powerplay isn't something to joke around with. So no. He's not worth it. He brings nothing to the table that Accari or Lafferty do not bring in the roles they are asked.

Bunting can't play the physical game they play so instead he makes up for it with dirty shit. So no. Bunting is likely done as a Leaf.
