This team is horrendous when it comes to LW and we only have 3 more guaranteed(barring a trade) seasons from Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Tavares so it begs to question whether rushing this guy is the way to go.

I'm thinking we should give him a look on the first line next season. The time is now to make something happen we can't think 5-6 years down the road here we don't know who's staying and who's going.

I would prefer he comes over and unless he really stands out in training camp start him with the Marlies.

Let's pretend it's normal business as usual and we develop him like we aren't headed towards a Big 4 free agent Armageddon.

No. Nothing good ever comes from rushing prospects if they are not ready.

Let him play where he has the aptitude for.

He's more pro ready than Robertson. Bigger frame, better skater, better tools other than his shot which is still high end, more experience in pro leagues, more responsible defensively.

If Amirov playing sometime this season or next is rushing him, I don't know what you call playing a 19 year old Robertson in a playoff game.

The risk is pigeonholing Amirov as a bottom-6 W, but it's not like he's getting opportunities to carry a line or support a top-6 line in the KHL. If he was playing first line for the Marlies at least I'd understand wanting to keep him down and let him learn to dominate.

i'd like to see him get a full, injury free season in the khl before coming over

A winger drafted 15th overall last year being NHL ready for next season seems like a nice thought. Potentially rushing that player due to a less than impressive lot as competition feels like less of one.

Can he join the Marlies at anytime or does he have to wait for his season to finish?

Odd Question. No one should ever be rushed. You add proven commodities to fill needs unless your internal candidate is destroying the league they are currently in. Players should be stealing their jobs based on achievement, not coming in on the holes we create by just dropping vets. Based on his age and experience so far I am fine not seeing an NHL game from Amirov until 23-24.

If he shreds the K this year you need to really think about it but that hasn't happened yet. He could be something but way too early to start pushing people up. He needs time.

Literally who even cares at this point. Might as well rush this fella. It’s not like it’s conceivable it’ll make a difference either way.

AMIROV, could be good, or gud, but, he is kinda fat... Incredible this and that..

But he does not like the gym...

Dubas saw for sure a serious, serious talent, but does he become a gym and rink crazy like malkin... or crosby...

Very few guys do...Very few do...

And, its kinda understandable....

Dubas, tried to bet on this guy being a guy who wants to make a lot, lot more than an elc

My hat is off to Dubas for the speculation but what he does not understand, he has to hire a guy, over there, for decent cash, to keep this guy going...

Dubas might learn that kind of stuff... Its the top end...

But larry gotta get out his real estate winnings wallet for that

If they figure that out, and get it legally out of cap distance, the leafs will have the league pissed

What I see about this guy in question, he is lazy, and wont put in the work to be a malkin

But if the leafs hire the right guy to get this going.. he could be great

Hockey players are like race horses.. get the right trainer and the right follies on the side

A CERTAIN team in the eighties was expert at that, nuff said..

THIS guy is kinda malin like, huge wing span, great speed, nice mits, but, but

Malkin was obsessed, with being better than crosby...

And obviously, the rest of the nhl, very, very rare

Amirov has not gotten enticed into that by kyle thye doobie dubas.

Amirov is the franchise savior lets light speed his development nevermind rush.
If he wasn't injured a schedule like the beginning of this one would be an opportunity to give him a taste. Yes yes we are playing like trash and losing with this easy schedule right now but that's not the point. He'd be nice and sheltered in that top 6 just play smart and get open. We wouldn't be sending him in to drive lines.

I wouldn't see it as a rush. The logistics probably just don't work out with the whole KHL thing.
