And their players all have summer jobs.
Yeah, their expenses are a lot easier to cover than an NHL team spending 80 million dollars on player salary alone

Right, so again, the smaller leagues can be excused because they're small. The big three can be excused because of all the revenue they have. And their players all have summer jobs.
Baseball played a 60-game season. Their players had pro-rated salaries--something the NHL hasn't asked for.Right, so again, the smaller leagues can be excused because they're small. The big three can be excused because of all the revenue they have.
The NHL is the only special little snowflake that has high cost and low revenue.
Do we have a separate excuse for every single league?Baseball played a 60-game season. Their players had pro-rated salaries--something the NHL hasn't asked for.
Why would NHL teams be much more dependent on gate revenue? Which part of "MLS has a worse tv deal" is not registering?
The bigger leagues don't have the same problem because they're bigger. The smaller leagues don't have the same problem because they're smaller. Always an excuse.
The f***ing NWHL has a start date. They have no gate AND no television.
You're giving me a different reason for each league why every other league can work through this and the NHL can't.Owners in leagues like NFL and MLB have more flexibility financially. Team options and non-guaranteed contracts, they can cut bait and save money. You see what's going on in MLB, with all these good players' options not getting picked up or being extended contracts, and owners saving millions and millions of dollars. NHL owners aren't afforded that.
The NWHL? Lol. That's like operating a lemonade stand compared to the NHL. No offense to the ladies, wish them the best.
You failing to understand or acknowledge these important differences doesn't make them 'excuses'.
Yes, if he wants to go. Same with Kakko.
Lafrenière hasn't played a game since March. Kakko has played 3 competitive games in that same span. An 8 month off-season should be enough, right? Actually 9 by the time the WJC starts
Boo.
Drury is helping Team USA. Discusting.
I am willing to bet $10,00 that training camp will happen before September.Well the way things are looking that first NHL training camp may not happen till Sept so who knows what will happen.
I hope you're right. Just wish these idiots would be talking instead of putting stupid messages out to the media.I am willing to bet $10,00 that training camp will happen before September.
I can't imagine where he'd be going that would escape the pandemic-related worries.I think he should go since there is no other hockey for him to play but at the same time i understand with the pandemic if they wanna avoid all that. Can't wait for this tourney.
On a related (unsurprising) note:
Are they not going to let Schneider play either???!
