Should Alain Cote's goal in 1987 been allowed?

Historic dissalowed goal in a crucial game.

Sorry, it's the only footage of the goal that I could find online, if anyone has a better one, post it please. Good goal or not?

Right call.
Gillis went right for the net from the circle. Naslund was clearly trying to steer him to the corner the whole way, not into or even towards his goalie.
The key to it for me is that Gillis' skate makes contact with Hayward. If that doesn't happen then it's a good goal because Gillis is clearly not pushing Naslund into Hayward.
Gillis just went in a little too hard and it cost his team a goal. If he lets up just a bit at the end and doesn't make contact with Hayward himself, then that goal is good imo.
