Gotta say, so far Keffe feels like a home run. I know coaches are judged by getting their teams across the line, but he has done a great job of fitting these players together and getting great results.

I didn’t say they’re bad. They’re decent because they’re well coached and feast on other less skilled teams and more skilled teams that play stupidly against them like us.
Again. We could not have played more of the kind of game that they would’ve wanted us to then we did. Like if I was on Islanders staff coming up with how I hope the Devils play stylistically that would be it.

Dougie conversation is funny because he’s still coming off a huge injury and has been better in the last 5/10 games.
When he makes a mistake it’s highlighted because he’s not a great skater and his size always makes it look awkward. Hasn’t been great but it always looks worse than it is. He’s a key contributor and doesn’t get the credit regardless of where he is it seems. Will go down as one of the most underrated players in his era.

Except we’re currently running a 4th line that consist of one actual NHL player. And that guy is really just a top 9 fill in guy.
There’s a very good chance we end up with Dowling in our top 9 and that is horrifying. It was an under appreciated issue coming into the season.
Our depth past our top 9 is horrendous.

the problem is that Dougie and Dillon are both slooooow as hell, so when there is transition hockey, it is really evident.
I would swap Siegs with Dillon at least for a few games and see how we look

Ummm sorry but Siegs is not a better skater than Dougie or Dillon. So I’m not sure how that makes sense.
Dillon isn’t even a terrible skater and is clearly a better skater than Siegenthaler
To be fair. Siegenthaler’s footwork and quickness in tighter areas might be better which makes a difference. But he is a not a better overall skater
