Those of you following the saga of my GDTs know that my first one was thrown together because you lazy swine didn't have one up on Monday and the game was starting in two hours or so. Me being the heroic, caring, sainted, and humble paragon of virtue that I am I stepped up and put one together. Well, they won. Then, I was forced to create one for the game against the Habs. It was a bit uneven but they won again. Now, since I am so considerate, charming, handsome, magnificent, and humble, I am complying with tradition to create this GDT.
If you participated in the Habs GDT you probably remember that I was not prepared to make the GDT for today. I'm in Westchester staying with one of my brothers. I'm going to see David Gilmour tonight with all of my brothers and a couple of nephews and two of my boys. I've seen Roger Waters twice but for one reason or another I've never seen Mr. Gilmour live. Given his age and lack of passion for touring I think this is probably it for him. I am giddy as a schoolgirl about tonight. Below is a picture of him at MSG from a few days ago.
I promise to treat the arena like crap and say mean things about the Rangers while I am there. But I will be on cloud 9 (shout out to George) and won't care where he's playing so long as I am there.
Since I live down South I had to get onto a newfangled contraption called an "aero-plain" to fly up here to see the game. As old as I am I have to take a picture of my parking space at the local airport so when I get home I can find my car in the morass of the parking garage. When you pull into the parking garage at the airport there is a digital board that tells you how many open spots there are on a given level. Well, there was only one spot open in the covered sections. Plenty of parking on the top level but I prefer to protect the car from the sun and rain so I drove to the one open spot with protection from the elements. I parked and took the picture. And it was only then I realized that I was parked in section......
How fitting. Well, I have to sort out where we are going to eat lunch and what I will see with my boys before the concert since they are not from the area and the city is still an exciting place for them made more fun by all of mom and dad's landmarks in the area. So I hope all of you and the Devils shine on this evening (sadly he isn't playing that on this tour but the setlist is quite good).
The lineups are below.
NJ Devils
Palot Jack Bratt
Cotter Haula Noesen
Meier Hischier Mercer
McD Dowling Tatar
Siegs Kovy
Luke Pesce
Dillon Dr. Evil
I'll guess they come back with Markstrom. Not sure if I will be able to edit this later so you may have to imagine it says Allen.
NYI
Lee Horvat Pageau
Tsyplakov Nelson Palms
Engvall Cizikas Holmstrom
Martin MacLean Wahlstrom
Mayfield Pulock
George Dobson
Cholowski Hutton
I'll guess Sorokin since Varlamov played their last game
NYI line combos from Daily Faceoff so if they are wrong blame them.
The Devils are coming off a win against the Habs where Jack and Bratt imposed their will on the game. Marky wants that first goal back but did make some big saves and was steady enough. The rest of the team had their moments but they have plenty of room to improve. The Isles have apparently won their last two. Sorokin is playing very well so it might be a long night. Surprisingly the Isles special teams are struggling. Their PP is only at 13% while their PK is only at 67%. The PP I can see but I'm shocked a Lou team would ever have a PK so low. Lou must be rolling in his grave. Of course once the sun sets he will rise from it and go watch his team.
OK, I need an iced tea and start figuring out the day. Let's Go Devils!!
