Sheldon Keefe; one of the dirtiest players in junior

I really like Keefe's redemption. He has been successful as a coach at every level. It would be a nice story if he helped Toronto go all the way. But I think our core does not fundamentally play his rougher style of play (see Marlies) and is failing to adapt.
Keefe is over matched in the playoffs. We need toughness and we get some and it is sitting in the press box.

Then he sits better D man and dresses Holl WTF

To be honest I’m surprised Keefe’s past hasn’t been brought up more often.

It’s important to note that Frost was very influential on him and the other “Brampton Boys” before they were even in the OHL. Having a terrible influence in your life from the ages of 13-20 can make people do crazy stuff and it’s impressive that he has turned his life around to the extent he has.

This Reddit thread doesn’t have all the info on the team, unfortunately the team’s old beat reporters blog post has disappeared from the internet but it gives a decent recap of that season.

Honestly would make for an incredible documentary

Edit: Apologies if the entire post shows up here.

Also, I view Keefe as a victim of Frost. He definitely wasn’t a saint in those years but I think it speaks to his character and growth as a human how he has been able to put this behind him and by all accounts become a better person.
