Ok, so the previous two months were something. Attended two funerals - grandma and grandaunt. Grandaunt's son died on 25th because of embolism. He lived alone, went for a run, was supposed to stop by at granduncle's... to be found dead by his brother and my uncle. Grandma is understandably messed up after all of this.
Also the person that birthed my wife known as her mother said some unsavory things around the start of November... which I am not gonna share, because there would be so much of it and I had this resolved already. Not to mention she's kinda losing an ability to tolerate different political opinions, which is harder and harder to tolerate, because while I have befriended self-proclaimed fascists and communists they were all willing to an exchange of opinions. She's not. And current Slovak government is trying to triumph Hungariands in their role of Trojan Horse within NATO and EU, so... fu^king great.
In Novemeber I had 4 friday 24h shifts in a row which was also kind of nuts. Two colleagues took my extra shifts in October when I had to study... and MV tends to pay his debts.
D-V was down with some weird fever for almost three weeks in November as well. Also her digestive issues got worse. Now I should be the one to nudge her into getting endoscopies done. (I finally got my diagnosis thanks to her gently forcing me to finally have an endoscopy).
At least Christmas was fairly peaceful because we didn't see almost any people. And Grandma's a bit better I think. She had theatre tickets with my mom for Christmas from me and D-V (her idea)
Recently (January) we were over the bed capacity over one night. As in we had beds outside of regular patient rooms. It was for a night, but I was still pissed. Unlike in US (where I think at least, beds are shared among specialties), every clinic has its own beds, but there is still some degree of temporary sharing. I like dimissions and all, but I wasn't particularly happy to meet so many candidates for it first thing in the morning.

To end on a positive note, we will be travelling to Northern Sweden, Lappland specifically in around the time of 4 Nations. Because she won that congress for young internal medicine doctors. I am basically just an armed escort (my arms being my friendliness, willingness to talk to strangers and knowing a Swedish guy on Discord). I have to pay for my trip and all, but at least in my case it's full-time vacation. I needed to update my winter wardrobe anyway, because last time I went skiing I was 9-10 kg (19-22 pounds) lighter.
