TSN: Shawn Simpson passed away.

I'm a Bruins fan who lives in Ottawa who really enjoyed listening to him on TSN 1200, he was funny, entertaining and not afraid to speak his opinion. When he was let go a few years the morning show was never the same, may he rest in peace, so sad.

I thought he was great with Wallace and Yorkie on Coming in Hot. Personally, the show isn't as good without him. But clearly he left because he was dealing with things.

He was so charismatic and such a good talker but restrained himself on CIH, and didn't overwhelm the other two. I really liked him. Heartbreaking.

Simmer and Ian were the best together. Loved their show and Simmer was always a favourite of mine.
I remember he was doing the post game once and he selected me as fan of the night and I won a gift card.

I always appreciated his insight on the game and how open he was with his struggles. He helped spread the message to others to know that it’s ok not being ok.

My heart goes out to those close to him.

Damn, that's awful. My thoughts go out to his friends/family.

Simmer was a really fun presence among Sens media, so he'll be greatly missed.

And I loved when he'd troll on Twitter. I remember when he tweeted that the Sens were getting ready to sign an elite Russian goalie called "Ilya Shutzdorov" and some Sens fans fell for it and got really excited.

That’s like the Leafs getting Summerov & Teeov in the off season.

On a serious note, you have to walk a mile in a man’s shoes. You never know what they have had to go through. Just one event can produce some drastic changes to your life. Didn’t know about the things Tim Baines talked about in the 2013 article he wrote about Simpson. RIP Shawn Simpson.

I was very surprised when Bell Media canned him. They lost a good host who fit that station perfectly but instead they kept some dullards with voices unsuitable for radio. Big mistake by the suits! I only listen to TSN1200 occasionally since then.

RIP Simmer you are not forgotten.
