The guy is a bull on skates, drives the net every single shift.

Great season for him. Well deserved hatty

Maybe you did. I've wanted Matthias on this team through a Lu deal ever since this play:

The guy's a prototypical Western Conference player.

No I've always liked him, but that was the common thought when the trade went down.

And the masses were right. More was expected out of Matthias than what he eventually turned into.

But kudos to him currently...he is on pace for his best season since 2011-12 and best overall.

A guy on pace for 20 goals while adding other aspects can't really be considered a throw in. He is playing well above most people's expectations since the trade.

Always thought he was going to be really good...now I'm not sure if he's like a really late bloomer or just a hot streak.

I love the way he has been playing while he has been healthy for the Canucks. He is the type of player that a lot of teams regret trading away. His remarks after the game really show what type of person he is as well. Humble and thoughtful but wrecks havoc on the ice. Those are the kind of players that Canucks fans rally around. Hope he continues to grow as a player and that we extend him.

Always liked Shawn when he was a Panther, he brought a ton of energy, speed and drove hard to the net. Unfortunately he couldn't mesh with our skilled guys like Huberdeau, seemed to only find chemistry with grinders like Winchester. If the return wasn't for Luongo, the trade would have been very upsetting, though he wasn't happy here either so worked well for everyone.
