Dallas is going to be in trouble by the time they finally get healthy. To many loses to division rivals is going to hurt them, so with that I think we will trade Sharp and a few others

If I'm Nill I'm looking for a young forward or D that can play now and maybe a pick depending on who that player is

fair, but that was a terrible trade.

didnt Sharp go for Daley and Garbutt a year ago?

What about it was terrible? Ladd was arguably the top forward on the trade market, that's where Sharp is positioned among likely to be moved UFAs. Look at the list of upcoming UFAs, it's pretty dire when you cross off names of players on playoff teams.

Sharp and Johns were traded for Garbutt @ 50% and Daley in a cap shedding move. No serious person is going to ignore the fact that 5.9m for 2 years lowers the trade value of a player significantly. At the deadline and with 50% retention and an expiring contract coming back, Sharp will be easy to accommodate for any team that needs scoring.

Because they needed to move him. A top 6 50 point winger will likely cost a 1st + prospect at the deadline or at the very least a 1st/decent prospect

I could definitely see Montreal being interested at the TDL (or sooner) if MB could clear some cap space. Not 1st + good prospect interested, but if a Vanek type situation opens up...

Sharp is likely the best deadline forward that could be available. What Vanek got wont cut it when there will likely be more than one team that would be interested. All that is moot however if Dallas is in contention

I can't see Ottawa moving one of their top prospects (Chabot, White, Gagne, Perron or Brown) for a rental - it's just not their style. One of the younger roster/fringe guys could be made available for the right deal (Dzingel, Lazar, Bailey, Paul).

Ottawa also do not have a 2nd round pick in the upcoming draft, so it's unlikely they want to move their first rounder and not have a pick in the first 70.

That said - I think there is probably another team out there who can put a better offer on the table.

Ottawa would offer up Ceci, a 2017 2nd and Zach Smith.

Are you sure you're a sens fan?

Ceci for a 34 year old impeding UFA? And we're adding a pick that we don't even have, and Smith. Just completely laughable.

Did you know that Sharp will be 35 y/o and UFA? Even if Sharp had more term left, I wouldn't do that.

Gagne is not an Ottawa top prospect (yet). Add Chlapik and Dahlen to that list instead. Englund and Jaros too.

Also Bailey is not a "younger roster/fringe guy", he's strictly an AHL player. Dzingel is not fringe anymore, Lazar has never been. Paul is a prospect who needs more pro experience. I wouldn't trade Dzingel for an older soon-to-be-UFA player. Paul or Lazar maybe.

Moon Walker, how many more "(your top-6 winger) to Ottawa" threads you gonna post around here, man?

I mean, sooner or later, you're going to run out of wingers to make threads about.

I highly doubt the ask would be a player at the level of white or Chabot as that's just a little over the top. But if they where serious about it the offer of pumpel +1st would have to be on the table assuming other teams are interested. The first for Sharp and Pumpel is a replacement body

While the team is improving, we're still not Patrick Sharp away from being a contender.

No way I'd move a 1st.

I am sure Sharp will get dealt (If Dallas isn't a legit contender of course), but it won't be to Ottawa.
