That McDavid shoulder to Coutures head definitely made contact with the chin. That angle posted in this thread doesn't show it at all but CSN CA had a replay from the opposite side of the ice where it was pretty clear that he made at least glancing contact with Coutures jaw...probably not enough to hurt someone but given Coutures injury I bet it hurt like hell.

Oiler fans can argue all they want but McDavid played a nasty game and got away with more than a few penalties...Elbow to Couture, the questionable shoulder to the head, the cross checks to Meiers back and head while he was down...

For all the complaining about the refs, the Oilers could have been called for a lot more...been a few missed highsticks

Yea i bet if you look througg the calls in all the series edm will have a lot more hard not to call pens like tripping and high sticking.

I wouldn't really say we were better in game 3. Seemed pretty even actually mainly because Sharks let up half way through.

Biggest issue in game 3 were shots not getting to Talbot. Oilers blocked a ton but the Sharks missed the net too many times. (Recurring theme this year)

I watched some of highlights of the game. Was surprised that McDavid ended up being as dirty as he was. Those cross-checks to Meier should have been called for roughing. I did not like that play because Meier was on the ground and could do nothing really. But McDavid just kept going.

The elbow to Couture's head was another one. It did not connect but there was definitely intent there.

If Meier can stay under McDavid's skin like he is and get him off his game, then it only helps us. But honestly, **** like this needs to be called. If not, the Sharks may eventually retaliate and actually hurting McDavid.

I don't think I can effectively argue this with you. I will say, I'm a massive Oilers fan but I am no homer.

I will ask, what is your opinion of the gif? Does it look like there is head contact to you? Does it look like McDavid meant to make contact with his head? Does Coutures reaction seem genuine to you?

This is more the point I'm arguing and I'm honestly curious.

It's tough to have an opinion on that gif because there isn't enough information to tell if there is head contact and whether the reaction is genuine. I do have confidence in saying that McDavid wasn't meaning to make contact with his head but that doesn't mitigate anything if he does make contact with the head. I'm sure a reverse angle would clear a lot of it up and it wouldn't surprise me if Couture tried to sell it but that's not a good enough vantage point to make that distinction is all I was saying. But it also wouldn't surprise me if McDavid even just brushed Couture's lips with his shoulder pad that it could cause a reaction like that when Couture just got his teeth all knocked out not too long ago. It is still a very sensitive area and I don't disagree with people who say tough cookies regarding that but it would explain plenty in that sequence.

Do we really need Oilers fans complaining about refs and diving on our board? The main board is a already full of it.

If McDavid gets lumped up that's on him. No quarter given to anyone. Ever. Couture elbowed Larsson in the chops too.
