I had to google it, I've heard of her lolOh boy, does sound like a lousy start.
Where I live I'm walking distance to Lake Ontario, nice little spot called Port Dalhousie. You may have heard of it, it's kind of infamous for one of Canada's worst crimes. I don't even want to mention their names.
So just looking at my app, I went 6.75 km in 1:15. I love walking, especially when the weather is starting to get nice. My best was about 12 km in 2 hours last summer.
Today's walk was 11 minutes 13 seconds / km. So that was a good walk.
Yup. aka Ken and Barbie. I've lived in St. Catharines since 1975. That happened in 1993. I live less than 5 minutes from everything situated with that crime. Where they live, where the victim lived, where her family lived when they killed her sister on Christmas Eve. The Church they abducted Kristin from, the school where she went, I could go on and on. When I walk down to Port Dalhousie, I walk through Jaycee Park which has a Kristen French memorial, it's quite beautiful. I still can't believe it's been 32 years. I remember it all like it was yesterday. Turned our community upside down. He's still in jail, she got a sweetheart deal and is free, married with kids. She should still be in jail as well.I had to google it, I've heard of her lol
There's a documentary made about it. It's called Ken and Barbie The Lost Murder Tapes.Yup. aka Ken and Barbie. I've lived in St. Catharines since 1975. That happened in 1993. We heard abut it in AB at the time too. I remember hearing about it and I'd have only been 13/14 at the time. There's a documentary made about it. It's called Ken and Barbie The Lost Murder Tapes.
I believe it was on Discovery, it's probably everywhere now.
You'd see my city, and community.
It was such a huge ordeal back in 93. It's worth a watch if you like true crime documentary's, but it's quite a disturbing story.
I'm assuming I'm one of the older one's on here, so not even sure if you guys were around in 1993.
But one good thing about being my age, I've been a Flames fan since 1980, and got a lot of amazing memories of our team including of course the Holy Grail, the Stanley Cup. I am pretty sure I still have newspaper articles about the win.

I had just turned 19 when the Flames hoisted Lord Stanley. I'll never forget it, it was freaking amazing. The whole game 6 against the Habs. Claude Lemieux slew footing Vernon on a goal they scored. I've hated that guy ever since. If I pull him in NHL 25 in a pack, it's an immediate quick sell lol. Never forget Gilmour and Lanny's goal's. It's funny watching that game back these days how different it was, how many cheap shots Montreal got away with. It was craziness.Yeah I remember the story. Awful awful stuff. I remember hearing how Bernardo was denied parole last yr I think it was.
I remember our cup win as well, but from a different lens I'm sure. I was 7 turning 8 and we moved here to BC that summer after the win. I can still see Lanny dancing after his goal and killer Gilmour looking so intense and poised getting his.
I've told my better half I need to move back so we can win again. She won't have it. Haha.
Truth be told we love BC. But my die-hardedness was passed down from my gramps and namesake at a very young age that even such an early move never changed my allegiance. Not close.

Also, my first Flames jersey was #7 Joey Mullen.
