Is Smith hurt again (didn't look injured and I haven't been following media stuff much on the team so if it was mentioned somewhere I didn't see it) or is he just in the coaches doghouse?

Also, if Smith is hurt considering how ineffective Lerg is at the NHL level I wonder what it's going to take to give Carpenter a shot. The 4th line hasn't been good & could probably use a change.

Don't know that Ben is hurt *again*, but guessing he did not play back-to-backs this past weekend as he was not fully healthy from injury last month.

He's practicing for the 2nd time in the last week (only 30 min yesterday) and is still in a no contact jersey, I'm guessing he's still a couple weeks away from the NHL if everything goes well.

I wonder if this is an actual roster move or just one of those funky cap moves they're constantly making by basically sending players down the hallway

Surprised since him and Mike Brown have been playing a solid 4th like role. He got a sweet assist the other day and last game was doing a good job making things happen in the neutral zone. Hopefully he comes back soon. Certainly better than Smith.

Probably a reward to Lerg for playing well.

I haven't watched all of the games, but those I have seen, Goodrow just can't stay on his feet in a shift...

Goodrow's just not any good. He gives an honest effort and I respect that but he just doesn't have NHL skills. He's nothing offensively and nothing defensively. He's probably not the first guy I'd drop from the roster. That'd be Lerg then Brown then Goodrow. I'd assume Smith is then ready to go but Goodrow could come back up tomorrow for all we know.
