Svoboda means freedom in Russian, so he is obviously the one that will free us from not having a cup.
Guys like Goodrow and Svoboda have a very short window where their skills and experience develop to NHL-quality before their bodies erode away the narrow level of physical ability they have keeping them afloat, so it makes sense. What's interesting about these types of guys is that their peaks are very short. Like, I'm talking about three, four years of actually valuable play. So the timing--meaning Svoboda hitting his 3-4 year peak from ages 23-26--might well be right smack in the middle of our contending window. That's my hope, anyway.
Is almost four years recent? I mean, from what I've learned on this forum recently, Celebrini will be past his peak in four years time...I agree. I was figured that Goodrow hasn’t been discussed in a few days so it was a great reminder that he did have value as a 4th liner on a cup team recently.
Maybe at the tail end of it...but when do you think his peak will be?Is almost four years recent? I mean, from what I've learned on this forum recently, Celebrini will be past his peak in four years time...![]()

I suppose it depends on how many serious injuries he has in his career, but to throw out a name for comparison's sake, McDavid's best scoring year came at age 26.Maybe at the tail end of it...but when do you think his peak will be?
So wait, shouldn't expect a point per period in the NHL now? I had my hopes upNo points for Chernyshov tonight, but he was fabulous anyway. Could have had a few, but the opposing goalie was really really sharp and Windsor is really good.
He's really good at creating turnovers off the forecheck, and using his body to protect the puck so he can make a play under pressure. He's not perfect defensively, but he really tries and has a lot of good habits. He makes the extra effort to defend in front of the net and be the first guy back even though he's the winger. Really a joy to watch right now, alongside Misa and Parekh especially.
Saginaw plays Sudbury tomorrow, which I'll of course try to catch.

1) McDavid's best scoring season was in 2021, when he was 23-24.I suppose it depends on how many serious injuries he has in his career, but to throw out a name for comparison's sake, McDavid's best scoring year came at age 26.
1) I am officially embarrassed for you for being that pedantic.1) McDavid's best scoring season was in 2021, when he was 23-24.
2) Celebrini is a different type of player. He's incredibly mature and well-balanced, so we'll see an earlier peak.
Fixed that1) I am officially embarrassed for you for being thatpedanticaccurate.
The implied "I think"...don't you think Celebrini is different from your typical high-talent young forward?2) You have zero factual basis for asserting that
