Through 44 games, the Jackets are in 8th place in the league for total shots on goal. What an amazing little stat. I absolutely love how Evason has give the team the freedom to just shoot from anywhere. For far too many years, the mindset of the team (coach) was timid and hesitant instead of just shooting with abandon. Good things happen...

I cannot understate how amazing it is now that adults are in charge of the front office and behind the bench.

JVR was such an underrated signing. We've never really had a lunch pailer around the crease like he is.
He and Voronkov are working that area really well. In the past it was mostly Jenner who showed up down there for the Jackets.

i’ll never bet shots on goal ever again lmao. I just counted atleast 3 shots on goal that elvis saved and san jose has been hard stuck on 7 for atleast 10 minutes now.

Yeah seems hard to believe.

(just checked Google scoreboard and it says Sharks only have 6, heh)

They got JVR/Lebanc/ZAR on the cheap and all three have worked out
When you look at the dead weight that was shed: Texier, Roslovic, Bean, Boqvist, Laine, Peeke, etc. Every one of them has been replaced by a better/healthier/hungrier/harder working player.

Monahan was such a layup, but it's arguably our best signing ever.

NHL.com says 7 shots, so yeah not sure if something's wrong. Often the shots are lagging a bit but not more than a minute or so.

Also that bounce at like 15 seconds before the period ended... with some more force that could've ended up in the Sharks' empty net when there was the delayed penalty call. :D

Kinda agree, but coach Evason has been a big part of getting the best out of these guys.
Wonder what he could have done with last years team.

Two solid periods. The Jackets have controlled play with just a few rallies by the Sharks.

I need to give props to Steve Mears on PBP. The broadcasts are fresher with his calls. Yes it’s in part because he is a new voice, but he’s much better at sticking to the game at hand and of course his calls are much more on point after so much slipping in the last several years.
