Habs fan here (won't hide it right away!)

I'll be honest, I haven't had the chance to watch Sharks games this year (yet), so this is purely a stat watch opinion.

Boedker seems to struggle with his new team and was linked to Habs at TDL.

:habs

Mikkel Boedker
Brenden Dillon

:sharks

Nathan Beaulieu
Sven Andrighetto
3rd round 2017

Montreal could use an establish LW and getting bigger on the back end with Dillon (Well, management seems to go that way instead of PMD).

Sharks could add a young PMD to an already good mobile D-corp for someone who doesn't seem to play well in SJ. Andrighetto plays both wings (I know he went on waivers! he's still an ok depth NHL'er) and a 3rd pick. Also, Sharks gain cap space.

Boedker = Beaulieu
Andrighetto + 3rd 2017 = Dillon

This is a resounding yes from SJ!!! Get it done! Dillon is very good with the right partner (and Schlemko is that partner, so to say Dillon struggles with us isn't true as he's been very good this year) but I've always liked Beaulieu and this frees up a lot of cap space for us.

Cap space can definitely help them do something productive for another deep run.

I'm not sure what I would do as Doug Wilson, but that just means it's a pretty decent offer.

So the best you can do for Beaulieu is the UFA that nobody touch until the end of the day and who gets only 2 pts this season.... this is laugable!

Done.

We get rid of Boedker who just isn't fitting in, and Dillon for Beaulieu? Yes please. And I like Andrighetto.

I agree. When I saw the offer, I wasn't sure bc Dillon has been very good this year. Boedker hasn't fit so far but then all our lines are struggling so it's hard to say how much of that is bc of Boedker and how much bc Thornton, Pavs, and Couture haven't found their groove yet.

Love the cap space and like Beaulieu. I lean toward "yes".

I haven't seen many Habs fans respond. I don't know if it works for them.

I'd do this from a Montreal POV. I like Beaulieu but Bodkker gives us a LW upgrade, I feel his speed game would fit well on a line with Galchenyuk and Radulov. Dillon is a big lefty D, he isn't really the guy to play with Weber, but he could still be a decent add.

FWIW I think Petry is the ideal kind of partner for Dillon.

Don't mind the trade, but the Sharks would have to take some cap back. Preferably the little French centerman we have.

I don't think the Habs have the cap space to do the deal otherwise. Sharks could immediately waive Desharnais and save most of a million.

Would not take Desharnais for anything.
