Rust was playing well before Jake got put on that line though, right? It was only a handful of games, but still.

Yes, but at some point it because less about what's fair to Galchenyuk and more about what is needed from Malkin, because the Malkin we're getting with Galchenyuk isn't good enough (like earlier in the season).

Hey, man... on fair. Malkin is playing a pretty terrible game here. I'm his biggest fan, but maybe it is not on Chucky that G is cheating, looping, skating into crowds and generally looking disconnected in this one. It happens.
