Canada just doesn't care about these tournies anymore. It's like they feel obligated to be there and would rather be at home enjoying the offseason. Just going through the motions. Even the blowouts they were winning it didn't feel like they were giving max effort. These games have been pretty boring, No intensity. Feels like games you would see in training camp.

In last years WJC finals my (Finnish) partner decided to cheer for Sweden (!!) while I rooted for the US. We made a friendly bet on the game which I obviously won. I suppose it's a rematch of sorts.

Edit: the Smith assist was a heads up play to put a simple shot on net because his teammate was poorly marked. Cutter cleans up the second rebound on a shot Markstrom wants back. Still, good, basic play by Smith.

This tournament has been a great experience for Smitty, but honestly I think Warsofsky is the more important success here. Guy came into Sweden who had a much more talented roster and really out-coached them.

Let’s go get Gold! Switzerland will be a tough out but I believe.
