Love me some Brent Burns, but given his age, this is a contrast that could turn out to be ugly long term if SJ isn't careful

The coach that was fired the summer before he proceeded to have a career-best season, obviously.

Honestly he would be a massive piece of the team going forward if he was to come to Edmonton. But why leave a contender for a maybe?
I would love if he came to Edmonton, but never expected it to happen.

You'd leave Donskoi unprotected in favor of a 38 year old Thornton?

Donskoi doesn't need to be protected. And Thornton is mostly a curtesy (since Vegas would have to be moronic to take him and it's not like we have other forwards worth protecting anyway, since our top prospects like Meier and Goldobin are excempt and so is Donskoi).
