LeBrun: Sharks and Blackhawks are open to trading picks #2 and #4

I still dont see the Sharks getting a good enough young RD in a trade to justify passing up on a Chase Reid or whichever they have as the highest rated Dman at the draft. Not to mention the fact that Dman would be on an ELC just as Celebrini is entering his prime.

As for the Hawks, I definitely see the 4th overall in play. I think there's alot of pressure in Chicago to take some steps forward and be in a playoff contention in what will be year 4 for Bedard.

Why do you think Jason Robertson fetches 4x what you paid for Mikko Rantanen?

The pick value is 4x as much, and that's being generous and evaluating Chicagos 2027 1st as = to a 15th overall mid 1st.

We've seen teams dangle these top picks and it's so rare that they move. With the need for cap efficiency and the value of guys who can actually play well on an ELC it's very difficult to find a way to make that sort of trade.

Vancouver would need to first acquire the Winnipeg or Florida pick and use that with Hronek IMO. Not sure how they get there with Florida. With Winnipeg it would take Rossi I'd guess.

so that's essentially what I proposed, but Chicago could get the deal done before any team can submit an offer sheet
