About a week ago, I proposed the Sharks trade a 3rd rounder for Liljegren on the main boards.

I really like this. I think Liljegren is at worst a good third pairing guy but I think he definitely could be our second best defenseman right now. Nothing special but he's something we need desperately right now for a very reasonable price.

Seems a reasonable move with a nice upside. Benning is absolute garbage so its basically just a $1.75M salary increase next year, and cost a 3rd and 6th, which are worth rather little.

Relatively no risk move, and liljegren hasnt really had top 4 opportunity, much like Walman. He's obviously at the right age and might be a total steal, but how is his injury situation? He's only played 1 game so has he been a healthy scratch?

Awesome trade. No guarantee it pans out, but Liljegren is exactly the type of player that this team should be targeting and this is a reasonable cost to pay. My only complaint is we didn’t do it before opening night but possible it wasn’t available then.

To Leaf Fans: Benning moves like a guy who has been injured for a couple of years, He had hip surgery and doesn't move as well as he did before he got injured regularly. He was bad not terrible before now just terrible. Wish him well maybe he can return to occasional good games but don't count on it. Any Value you receive is in the draft picks.
