First two leafs shots go in on Ayers and after that they decide to only score on fancy plays in order to not embarrass the guy. Seemed obvious right from the start.
There was zero urgency by the leafs.

Could've just built a 3 goal lead then played a defensive game or leaned on the 4th line. Leafs were being significantly outworked by Carolina, who desperately wanted to support their goalie. The Leafs actually had more to lose in this loss then Carolina...but as they usually do, lost the game once it became a work ethic battle and not a skill game.

Well, making the playoffs is the norm, advancing in the playoffs has been the Leafs problem. I looking forward to the season and hope we have some success in the playoffs this year.
