Shane Wright vs Will Smith

Will Smith is a year younger and has 20 points and 8 goals in 43 games on a worse team

Shane Wright has 23 points and 8 goals in 47 games, though he does average a minute less than Smith and plays the more important position.

Will Smith quite comfortably. Wright looks to me like more of complimentary a 2C / PP1 kinda guy. Smith looks like he can be a top line play driver.

It's not an easy choice for me. Will Smith is a sublime passer but I don't think he has the type of energy or mindset to be a real play driver. I could see him as a topline winger who racks up a ton of assists though.

When he was with Bjorkstrand, Wright went on a tear, but unfortunately they split them up to try and resuscitate other lines, and now Wright needs resuscitation. I've always questioned his mindset. He's a more solid choice than Smith though, if unspectacular. In his prime he'll run play up the middle and probably be a big F3 shooting threat.

Wright is probably the better player now because he's at least competent defensively, Smith needs a lot of work in that area. But i'm taking Smith every time, i think he projects as the better player
