hmmm this one is harder

I'd much rather have Batherson than Terry, particularly considering contracts

I guess it depends if you see MacTavish's upside much higher than Pinto, which actually isn't clear. McTavish is 2 years younger but Pinto is much better defensively so far and has even scored at a better pace

Ducks and Sens are my two teams, I realize contracts/age and other factors play into trade value - but in my opinion Troy Terry stands alone as the best play driver of these four guys. The gap between him and Batherson may not be as much as their contracts reflect but the Ducks should prefer to keep the better player.

Generally speaking, if the Ducks are deciding to try and press the accelerator by tabling a young piece like McTavish - they should be putting together a package deal for the next true star who becomes available for whatever reason.

How has Pinto scored at a better pace?

McTavish - 166 games played
Points per game = .58
Goals per game = .24

Pinto - 152 games played

Points per game = .48

Goals per game = .20

Nope. Exactly the opposite. Pinto has been offered in 3-4 over reaching proposals today. He doesn’t have the value that some believe.
Agreed. I’ve never understood the hype with Pinto from what he’s shown thus far.

Not sure what the incentive for Anaheim is even if value isn’t particularly off in a EA Sports sense. If Anaheim wants to trade younger guys for older guys, it would be for guys that have some winning experience to rub off. Or maybe look to add a RD instead of playing Zegras on the wing.

I think Batherson is the best player in the deal( but close ) but Mctavish for Pinto is tilted in Ottawa’s favour . Not bad but not sure Anaheim does a move like this at this juncture .

This seems like an absolute ripoff for Anaheim.

Troy Terry > Batherson in everything but height and size.

and McTavish >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pinto by a country mile.

Those aren't the problems in Anaheim, and swapping them out for lesser players isn't going to fix what's actually wrong with that team.

Batherson outproducing him this year, last year and the year before.
And makes $2 million less AAV.

Yeah I think their respective numbers are skewing viewpoints here to some degree. I don't believe Batherson puts up nearly the same production if you swap his situation with Terry's, who is leading the Ducks in scoring albeit a very low scoring team. Terry doesn't have two clearly bigger star forwards ahead of him in the pecking order.

As I said above, I watch plenty of both teams and Terry is the best play driver out of these four. Batherson a fairly close second, and I see the point about his contract being cheaper. But the Ducks have endless cap space and their greatest need is high end talent - Batherson being cheaper for the next couple years doesn't make that much of a difference to them. McTavish is younger and has shown more upside than Pinto. This could turn out bad for the Ducks and they can't afford that.

If there was ever any weight to Tkachuk rumors, I'd hope the Ducks would try to press the accelerator by making a strong offer. Local product McTavish + 1st rounder +

Terry is locked up for 5 more years at that number, Batherson only two seasons from UFA. Are the Ducks even a contender within the next couple seasons? Batherson would likely be more expensive than Terry by the time cap space really becomes relevant to Anaheim, or Batherson potentially walks and then this turns out terrible for Anaheim.

Terry is their leading scorer and locked up to a very reasonable long term deal. He's not the guy the Ducks are looking to move in an effort to improve their roster.
