Would be a very nice stroke of luck, but I'm not to sure there is all that much hope watching the injuryMy gut is telling me this injury isn't as bad as we think it might be.
At least Gagner is playing, Brassard officially retiredDerrick Brassard too.
Derrick Brassard too.

Yep and Cody Ceci as wellIt's 2AM in Drummondville Quebec. The Brassard family is fast asleep. Derick, the patriarch tosses and turns. He senses something, but he doesn't know what it is. The rest of the family doesn't feel it, they are all fast asleep. Only the animals in the home can sense that something is off. Confused, Brassard puts his head back down on the pillow, failing to notice Pierre Dorion, outside his window, holding an iPad with the Senators game streaming. Dorion picks up his phone, "Just give me the word, and he's ours".
Next you're going to say that we shouldn't sign Scott Gomez.
This sucks so bad. Our 2 best two-way centres out at the same time. PK, scoring and puck possession will all take a hit. Here's hoping they can both be back in the line-up after 4 Nations.Mike Johnson on Pinto - 1st topic, talks about injury from 2:00 to 3"20.
Johnson: Sens centre ice gets thin without Norris and Pinto
NHL analyst Mike Johnson on Shane Pinto's upper body injury, getting Nikolas Matinpalo back in the line-up, is the window still open for the Lightning, Sens fans in Tampa and injuries ahead of the 4 Nations.www.tsn.ca

And let's hope when they are back they can play at 100% of their capacity. I'd rather have an AHLer than someone who can't shoot or take a hit or whatever. This sucks so bad. I don't have a lot of experience with shoulder injuries but the guys on TSN1200 were wondering if the fact that he seemed able to rotate his shoulder means it wasn't dislocated.Would be a very nice stroke of luck, but I'm not to sure there is all that much hope watching the injury
A month would be an extremely good prognosis IMO, any kind of seperation or dislocation and he's likely out until the playoffs (opens up some possible LTIR Shenanigans)
Yup, no surgery would be a win.If he doesn’t need surgery I’ll take that as a win.

If Pinto goes on LTIR until the playoffs, go get Marchessault.Would be a very nice stroke of luck, but I'm not to sure there is all that much hope watching the injury

Can't imagine they'd be looking to get a 5 x 5.5 dealIf Pinto goes on LTIR until the playoffs, go get Marchessault.
He's a cup winner, clutch performer, goal scorer, French Canadian.
I feel like he's the exact type of player Staios is looking to bring in, if he were to make a splash. Only thing concerning is his age/contract but he's looked good on a miserable Preds team.

That’s a tough contract for 4 1/2 more years at 34.If Pinto goes on LTIR until the playoffs, go get Marchessault.

Beef up the offer to have them retain a bit of money. Can't imagine they'd be looking to get a 5 x 5.5 deal
Solid player, awful contract and situation for the team.
He's got a NMC as well which would add another wrench to moving him

He’s very, very likely to see a drop on a playoff team, especially when he’s not getting PP1 time here and as he ages up. See David Perrons seasons getting 1st PP ages 30-35 vs here as a guy not getting fed ~4 mins of PP time for 17pp points.Beef up the offer to have them retain a bit of money.
If you're looking to win and go deep in the playoffs in the 2-3 years, he would be a key piece to achieving those goals.
If he's producing like this in his 30's, I don't overly care about that right now. He's a dawg!

Perron didn't win the Conn Smythe 2 years ago and isn't 1 season removed from 40+ goals. He’s very, very likely to see a drop on a playoff team, especially when he’s not getting PP1 time here and as he ages up. Perron was a 60+ point guy every season from age 30-35. Once he’s aged up and isn’t getting 1st Pp, it gets pretty bad.
Missed one yearHe just turned 34 so you have to consider:
2025-2026 his 34-35 year old season.
2026-2027 his 35-36 year old season.
2027-2028 his 36-37 year old season.
I unquestionably see him effective during that time. Last season akin to what we have from Giroux now.
Plus he can always retire. Wont be on the books before 35 contract. And the cap will have gone farrrr up in 4 years.
Marchessault best asset is his IQ. He'll be effective another 3-4 more years.
