First pick of the second round in 2019.

Finalist for hobey baker and won NCHC player of the year in his last season college year

Burned a ELC year and missed last season to a injury. Has only this season to bring to the negotiation table but he has 20 goals this year.

Long term sens fans project him to be a middle 6 centre. Fill in 2c elite 3c. Faceoff/defensive specialist with a nasty wrister

As a GM, he's injury prone, had one ok year.

Constructive thread, useful for follow up issues in this forum.

Can't see how he is not bridged given cap is tight everywhere.

Do you think he is pushing hard for max $$$ every nickel now, no give, or goes team friendly, or something in between?

Call me crazy but I go the Colin White route with Pinto if possible. Longer term contract to hopefully lock-in a promising player at lower cost then it will if we have to pay him after a bridge contract.

I just really like his package as a player. Great size, shot, effort, face-offs, and defensively reliable.

Very similar to Whitey in all honesty but I have faith a longer-term Pinto contract wouldn't bite the Sens in the butt like the White contract did.

Bridge him for 2 years. It'll coincide with the end of Giroux's deal. Hopefully Giroux stays but it'll be for a very low amount, so some of his $6.5M can go to Pinto's raise. And will have a better idea of Pinto's ceiling at 24 years old.

If they can keep him to a 2 x$2.5M, that would be ideal.

If this was an EA NHL game I'd do 6 years at 3 mil.

More than likely tho, him and his agent push for a bridge contract.

Injuries a worry and he’s not been that great. Also take the worst penalties. Cheap bridge.
Injuries are definitely worry. Death, too.

Wait, when you say "injuries a worry", you just mean that he has the potential to get hurt, right? Because he's had one major injury since he left house league.
