It will be better if they sign with Toronto two years earlier than McDavid- Of course, they are going to get raises.

The Hawks paid Toews and Kane after they won the cup.

Dubas paid Matthews and Marner before they even won a round.

Have you spotted the difference yet???

Matthews and marner outplay their AAV by a lot.

Kane and Toews do not. Individually Kane does but the combination of the 2 does not. Then the rest of their roster hasn't been well constructed since their cup wins either.

Leafs can end the trend of >$$ whatever team hasn't won a cup yet if management wakes up.

People rightfully call out management but aren't focusing on the real reasons management sucks.

Yeah I think Chicago's GM did just fine...when the above pictures were taken they were already two Cups deep with 11 total playoff round round wins.

Toronto, not even a round.

Completely flopped as an org as soon as they had to pay Toews and Kane market price. Not surprising.

Using past cup winners as example as well as players we let go stupidly who fit into the cap, explain to me why the cap left after the core 4 isn't enough to win a cup.

They simply do not know how to construct a roster. No depth who play like the cup is worth anything. Can't evaluate breakout players (playoffs) before the pay raise. Can't inject any ELC's into the lineup to support the team and when we finally have one worth playing they take him out. Never have a real 4th line. Skillsets throughout the roster is not balanced. Do I need to go on?

Core 4 was given them to them for free (big 3 drafted and JT wanted to play here since he was born), explain to me what exactly has management done besides giving our best players extensions? We don't even have proper goaltending department, and it showed.

How is it a good thing that we might have two dudes making more money then Mcdavid for a year or two

That's why you don't hand out 5/6 year deals

It will be better if they sign with Toronto because then we will have the players instead of another team. I think we will still have room for McDavid.

You mean like Dubas did when he let willy sit for half a year then bent over for him anyways ( in the most valuable ELC years for his stars btw).

Chicago won 2/3 cups after Keith/towes/kane's elc. Would have been nice to win a cup and THEN get value during the RFA control years

Instead we paid 2 players more then both Kane and towes and then signed a third in ufa.

We have 4 additional players making more then Duncan Keith

Look closer....he used "The Hawks never made it past the first round after paying Toews and Kane" as his argument for bad cap management by another team.

He actually wrote that :laugh::laugh::laugh:
