Mukhamadullin will not be UFA-eligible until after the 28-29 season, unless he is either non-tendered a contract or fails to play 47 NHL games over the next two seasons.I really like it when players bet on themselves
But PLEASE tell me he's still an RFA at the end of this...![]()
I'm sorry, what? Is there any precedent for a player with less than half a season of NHL experience at 23 getting a contract like this? Was hoping for 2-3 years. I assume this is more on Muk than the Sharks. i was hoping for 3x5-6 million or something like that. Even if he doesnt hit his full potential, no way is that handicapping the team on the third pair. Like i said i assume a 2 to 3 year was a possiblity Grier would have entertained, but with how Muk played down the strech, as mentioned betting on himself. He could get a solid boost in AAV if he can stay healthy and contribute the whole season. Look forward to seeing it.
I think a three year deal would've given Muk the arbitration rights that the team would probably want to avoid. Was hoping for 2-3 years. Ya in a world where Ty Dellandra gets 2 years that would have been nice, but its all good if he shows it this year he should get a nice deal.I think a three year deal would've given Muk the arbitration rights that the team would probably want to avoid.
Off teh top of my head? GMMG gave Thrun 2 years with barely more games than that, while showing a whole lot less than Muk btw. You have a good reason to think he suddenly changed corse in negotiating tactics since then?Mukhamadullin isn't "betting on himself." He's played 33 career games. Why would the Sharks even consider offering him longer term or more money than this?
Thrun had played twice as many NHL games as Mukhamadullin when he signed his second contract.Off teh top of my head? And looked nowhere near as goodThrun had played twice as many NHL games as Mukhamadullin when he signed his second contract.
Yeah I don't understand what the front office or coaching staff sees in Thrun. But he had a longer track record of playing big NHL minutes and staying healthy when he was signed. And looked nowhere near as good
2 years or more would walk Shak right to arbitration eligibility. Surely this was a factor in this being a one year deal. Was hoping for 2-3 years. He could get a solid boost in AAV if he can stay healthy and contribute the whole season. Look forward to seeing it. In a world where Dellandra gets 2 years i dont see how Muk cant be offered the same.
Ya as Floyd mentioned, i didnt even consider this in my posting. Seems like 1 year was the way to go with all things considered2 years or more would walk Shak right to arbitration eligibility. Surely this was a factor in this being a one year deal.
Thank you! Replied before seeing their post.Ya as Floyd mentioned, i didnt even consider this in my posting. Seems like 1 year was the way to go with all things considered
