Shades of 2019 from the Blues?

Someone in this thread literally said the blues had the third most wins in the 2010s. I understand you're still crying yourself to sleep every night over that loss but I think it's time to let it go. Embrace the rebuild.
Never will be able to forget that 2019 series. There simply is no debate that the crying of Berube shifted the game management 180 degrees to extend to a 7 game series and cover for the lack of discipline by Blues. Game 7 loss was on the level but there simply never should have been. Blues needed game management very similar to Florida to win their cup.

Losing is difficult but you will not find anyone upset over 2013. Chicago was simply the deserved champion. 2019, zero respect to the majority of the roster.

And quite simply nowhere near one of the better Cup winners of the 2010s.

This dude, a couple of Shark fans, and most of the Colorado fanbase def. have a hard on for the STL Blues.

You obviously have to put the teams that won the cup multiple times at the top. Chicago won 3, Los Angeles won 2, Pittsburgh won 2, which leaves 2011 boston, 2018 Washington, and 2019 st louis.

I would put that 2011 boston team on the bottom for sure, and if you're calling the blues a fluke then so are the 2018 caps and the 2011 bruins. Caps were a good team throughout the 2010s, just like the blues. Caps ran into the pens a lot, and the blues ran into la and Chicago. Caps and blues are on par, bruins at the bottom.

Boston was easily the flukiest win of the 2010s. They had no sustained success prior to that cup win similar to the blues and Caps.

They were the top seed in the East in 2009, would've gone to the finals in 2010 if Mike Richards doesn't break Krejci's wrist, had a Vezina goalie and a Norris defenseman, and had success in the three years after the cup too. That's just delusional.

The better team won, it was 6 years ago now time to move on.

While there are definitely some similarities between the two teams the main difference is the 2019 team was projected to be a contender prior to the season then just sucked at first and this team was projected to be a bubble team at best. Either way its been a lot fun.
As a close follower of the Blues, I think the parallels are stretched pretty thin. This current team still has some holes in the roster and nowhere near the depth. I’ll root for a deep playoff run, but since they’ll probably fade a top division seed, winning even one series would be a pleasant surprise.

The X factor is Binnington. He’s capable of stealing a series. His puck management is an asset that some teams struggle to adjust to.

As a fan of the team, I just like the way they’ve kicked the door down to announce the return to playoff contender status. More fun than rooting for a slightly better lottery chance.

The Holloway debacle may be one the dumbest moves by the GM in the last 10 years

You give $3 million to a smaller, older, slower, weaker player who’s only claim to fame is he is a born loser in Jeff Skinner

$2.3 is the most basic raise from an ELC in history. All you had to do was match it

Embarrassing

From a Canucks fan to a Bruins fan:

This post of yours is the actual origin of the expression "pot calling the kettle black"

Im sure Monty will find a way to be outcoached in circles for you chaps these playoffs. Its only happened at his other 2 NHL gigs.
He’s won at every level of hockey and was a Jamie Benn post in overtime against the Blues in Game 7 from going to the Conference Finals. I understand the butthurt though. We have Monty and you have Joe “Hero” Sacco.

I'll never forgive myself.

When I was in Vegas the year the Blues won the cup, they had this dreadful start to the season but their roster was too good for them to be playing that badly. The last day I had $100 and I had a back and forth with myself to put it on St. Louis to win the cup. They were 7-15 or something at the time.

I put $100 on the Bruins instead and, well, yeah.

Should have just got one of those show girl hustler chicks to just boot me in the dick 100 times.

"Outcoached" is generous. Dude absolutely crumbles under the pressure. Pure meltdown followed by taking no accountability.

I don't see it, the 2019 team was far deeper than the current blues.

-O'Reilly was a selke 1C
-Pietrangelo 1D with parayko, dunn and Bouwmeester made for a really good defense core
-Binnington was playing Vezina level as a rookie
- Tarasenko was a premier goal scorer

Lots of things don't match, but they are doing well
