Just warning everyone. I am heading to the game tonight, got tickets for
my buddy’s birthday in one of the lounges, section 19.

I am 1-7 in my last 8 games when I attend going back to 21-22. The sole win was Luke’s first game when Jack broke the team points record.

Other than that I am cursed in the past three years. 22-23 I managed a 1-4 record.. somehow in the best year of the franchise I saw some stinkers including the game 2 drubbing against the Rangers.

I kinda go and expect to lose now.

Sorry everyone.
Reading that in Dangerfield's voice was so great. I can hear him pulling at his collar the whole way through.

This Beatles slander is nuts, I actually cant stand them, probably because I heard them every other song growing up and being accosted by every Beatle fan that they're the best throughout my life but...I really, really respect them. You youngins don't get it, but they completely revolutionized the recording industry and how music was made. They are total legends of the first order, nothing compares to their cultural impact and vast catalog or diverse music. It's absolutely insane the number of hits they had and even more mind boggling everything they did was within less than ten years. Just a massive amount of music, still relevant today that we're talking about it on a hockey forum.
As a practical matter, they are probably on par with a Beethoven or Mozart in that they will be listened to well into the future long after they are gone. They still appear as characters in television and movies here and there, their music is still licensed for commercials and movies and I know of at least two restaurants that feature a Strawberry Field(s) salad. Plenty of cartoons have stylistic allusions to the Yellow Submarine. I always enjoyed seeing that in a cartoon show here and there when the boys were little. Elvis is in that group of music artists who will be played and remembered long after they are gone, as in hundreds of years. There are others but it becomes trickier to select them. I can understand someone younger not getting the Beatles. Again, they are a creature of their time. I am a second generation fan. They had already split up when I'm old enough to start listening to music but they were very much fixtures on radio with their solo stuff, especially Paul. In 1982 when MTV started they played All Those Years Ago in very heavy rotation. Like Michael Jackson and then All Those Years Ago heavy rotation. It was a decent song, but it didn't warrant the amount of reps it got. Then at some point I learned that it featured Ringo on drums and Paul on backing vocals. That made it historic. The first Threetles song since 1973's I'm the Greatest but of course the context of this was much more meaningful. Their impact just kept on resonating and quietly still does. If rock as an art form hadn't gone the way of the dodo they'd be more relevant today. Anytime someone says they suck I just ask who they like. Whoever it is you can rest assured that artist thinks the Beatles were on a pedestal. OK, now back to hockey. Maybe Luke scores his first tonight.....

(opens with George's guitar lick)

It was 15 games ago today
Sgt. Hutson taught the Habs to play
He's been going in and out of style
But he's guaranteed to skate a mile
So may I introduce to you
The team you've known for all these years
Sgt. Hutson's Lonely Habs Club Team.....

(trumpets and laughter)

They're Sgt. Hutson's Lonely Habs Club Team
They hope you enjoy the game
Sgt. Hutson's Lonely Habs Club Team
Sit back and let the skating go

Sgt. Hutons' lonely
Sgt. Hutson's lonely
Sgt. Hutson's lonely Habs club team

It's wonderful to host them
It's certainly a thrill
They are such lovely visitors
We'd like to score more goals than them
We'd love to win the game

I don't really want to stop the game
but I thought you might like to know
Lane Hutson's gonna throw a fake
And then he's gonna shake and bake

So may I introduce to you
The defender you've known for 15 games
of Sgt. Hutson's Lonely Habs Club Band.....

Lane......Hutson......

Matheson Guhle
Hutson Savard
Xhekaj Struble

I'll guess Montembault and will edit if I learn differently

NJ is coming off a somewhat undeserved win over Edmonton where Allen stole the game
MTL is coming off an OT win over Calgary at home. Since NJ lost a bit ugly to Calgary two games ago I'm not sure what it says about this game but we will see.

I'm going to see David Gilmour on Saturday and traveling home Sunday so win or lose someone else will have to do those GDTs.

Disclaimer - I got the Montreal lines from Daily Faceoff so if they are wrong blame them.

Edit: Montreal lost in OT to Calgary. I'm sure the Devils can rest much easier knowing that.

OK that's it. Now get off my lawn.
Saw Gilmour Tuesday night. He was absolutely fantastic. Enjoy!
