I don't see how you can put ELO ahead of the Beatles in that genre but that's just my thoughts. Oh, and Jeff Lynne's thoughts too.The Rolling Stones and ELO will always be the superior grandpa music artists

Well for Saturday you can make a Beatles suck and @My3Sons has no personality GDT. My wife, kids, dogs, and cat would all agree with the second part.
I don't see how you can put ELO ahead of the Beatles in that genre but that's just my thoughts. Oh, and Jeff Lynne's thoughts too.
The Rolling Stones and ELO will always be the superior grandpa music artists
Lennon then revealed his admiration for Electric Light Orchestra: “And it’s a nice group,” he continued. “I call them Son of Beatles, although they’re doing things that we never did, obviously.” He also compared ‘Showdown’ to one of The Beatles’ most beloved tracks: “I remember the statement they made when they first formed was to carry on from where The Beatles left off with ‘[I Am the] Walrus,’ and they certainly did.”I don't see how you can put ELO ahead of the Beatles in that genre but that's just my thoughts. Oh, and Jeff Lynne's thoughts too.
You get no respect from me.Just warning everyone. I am heading to the game tonight, got tickets for
my buddy’s birthday in one of the lounges, section 19.
I am 1-7 in my last 8 games when I attend going back to 21-22. The sole win was Luke’s first game when Jack broke the team points record.
Other than that I am cursed in the past three years. 22-23 I managed a 1-4 record.. somehow in the best year of the franchise I saw some stinkers including the game 2 drubbing against the Rangers.
I kinda go and expect to lose now.
Sorry everyone.
Brilliant adaptation of one of the greatest songwriting teams in history. Recorded by a band that will live on forever.View attachment 927355
(opens with George's guitar lick)
It was 15 games ago today
Sgt. Hutson taught the Habs to play
He's been going in and out of style
But he's guaranteed to skate a mile
So may I introduce to you
The team you've known for all these years
Sgt. Hutson's Lonely Habs Club Team.....
(trumpets and laughter)
They're Sgt. Hutson's Lonely Habs Club Team
They hope you enjoy the game
Sgt. Hutson's Lonely Habs Club Team
Sit back and let the skating go
Sgt. Hutons' lonely
Sgt. Hutson's lonely
Sgt. Hutson's lonely Habs club team
It's wonderful to host them
It's certainly a thrill
They are such lovely visitors
We'd like to score more goals than them
We'd love to win the game
I don't really want to stop the game
but I thought you might like to know
Lane Hutson's gonna throw a fake
And then he's gonna shake and bake
So may I introduce to you
The defender you've known for 15 games
of Sgt. Hutson's Lonely Habs Club Band.....
Lane......Hutson......

NJ is coming off a somewhat undeserved win over Edmonton where Allen stole the game
MTL is coming off an OT win over Calgary at home. Since NJ lost a bit ugly to Calgary two games ago I'm not sure what it says about this game but we will see.
I'm going to see David Gilmour on Saturday and traveling home Sunday so win or lose someone else will have to do those GDTs.
Disclaimer - I got the Montreal lines from Daily Faceoff so if they are wrong blame them.
OK that's it. Now get off my lawn.
I'm hoping that was sarcasm. If not, I won't venture to object as it would be a wasted effort. The Beatles suck. Boring grandpa music for people who don't have a personality.
I think it was tongue in cheek. Making fun of me.Brilliant adaptation of one of the greatest songwriting teams in history. Recorded by a band that will live on forever.

I sometimes forget I Danofied @My3Sons avatar on here lmao zooming in gives me a laugh each timeThe Beatles suck. Boring grandpa music for people who don't have a personality.
Let me see ummm Mick/Keith vs Lennon/McCartney sounds like a no brainer to me .... though all three groups are my favs.I don't see how you can put ELO ahead of the Beatles in that genre but that's just my thoughts. Oh, and Jeff Lynne's thoughts too.
No Beatles and we would be listening to Gary Lewis and the Playboys today ask almost any bandHe liked them, as did Paul and George (Lynne produced the comeback singles for Anthology) but you notice he's in a roundabout way saying they are a bit derivative. I know in some other interview he told the interviewer that when asked what the Beatles would have sounded like in the 1970s he cited ELO's sound. Now I don't think that is true. Maybe a bit more orchestration would have been added but listen to anything they did solo and it's hard to find anything that lush from any of the former Fabs. As a practical matter, Lennon really had little to say after the Walls and Bridges album. I'll always have nostalgia for Double Fantasy but mostly because of what it represents. I'll also add that comparing the Beatles to any group coming later is apples and oranges. The later groups had the advantage of technology and being closer in time to us than the Beatles. Later groups had more influences to draw on. You always have to compare the Beatles to their contemporaries to get any real sense of what they meant. Saying Led Zeppelin was better for example, aside from being an opinion, isn't that difficult to imagine when Page had the examples of Hendrix and Cream and of course the Yardbirds to draw on. John and Paul had Motown, Elvis, and Buddy Holly. It's a world of difference.

Stones are awesome. I've seen them four times over the years, first time all the way back in 1981. My uncle saw them in 1972. That must have been fantastic seeming them with Mick Taylor on guitar.Let me see ummm Mick/Keith vs Lennon/McCartney sounds like a no brainer to me .... though all three groups are my favs.
