Subban is off their books this off-season. Hawks would obviously have to take a bath bath with any return from the Devils but having Jones and Hamilton on their team makes them much better IMHO.

I haven’t looked at NJ’s cap situation. Would they be interested? Would they be able to fit him under their cap? What would the return be?

Hawks just committing to a big contract that starts next season, combined with their limited talent on their NHL blueline and in the system, leads me to believe this likely won't be a good fit.

In NJ, Luke Hughes will step in on an ELC soon, be cheaper, and possibly hold better overall value when they try to make a run in the playoffs in a few years. Lots of players are going to cost the Devils soon. Hughes contract starts next season and Bratt is a pending RFA and he's been a star this year.

Dougie H is on 9 for 6 more years and Seth on 9.5 for 8---that is alot to be tied up on the back end and they both play Right side
