I could be wrong, but I have this feeling he’ll end up with the Avs. He’d waive for several reasons:

* Joe Sakic took a liking to him as a kid and taught him how to skate.

* The 2013 Calder Cup. It might be nice to play with MacKinnon this time instead of against him.

* His dad is employed by Denver’s NBA team.

* With Makar, he doesn’t have to be “the man”. He can be the minute munching 2nd pairing RD with less pressure.

*. The 2013 Draft. All your top 10 picks are belong to us. MacKinnon, Nichushkin, Drouin, _______.

Yeah I think this is one of the most likely spots.

Since the crowd turned on him and was boo'ing him every time he touched the puck a few weeks ago, he stepped it up and has been playing fantastic, best as a Hawk. This is what he should have been like his whole tenure as a Hawk.

Kind of makes me feel ripped off as a fan, he has not been putting forth full effort and it took this to wake him up. Id be wary of trading for him he can go back to phoning it in mode very easily.
Or he was just getting healthy coming back from a foot injury.

He was usurped the moment MacKinnon torched him by turning the corner on him. Yes, it was a long time ago but athletes have egos and fragile egos.

Chicago would be stupid to move him. You need NHL calibre players and while he is overpaid, he is one of the few decent players on that team.

You can’t keep trading players for future and expect Bedard to continue to grow

I'm not saying he won't go to Colorado, but some of these reasons are beyond laughable. Thanks for that!

Yeah some of those were pretty funny. Pointing out he moved to Denver at 4 years old and took up hockey there would have made the most sense.

The 2 teams he's most been linked in rumours too through his career are Dallas and Colorado. Not surprisingly the 2 areas he predominantly spent his childhood.

It's been stated he won't consider Canada and publicly his agent spoke out against his potential signing with other US based clubs, I recall this was a thing in Columbus.. He seems a guy only willing to go to a few teams. He has the contract provision to ensure that's the only thing that happens.

Pure speculation but on his short list I'd imagine Colorado is on it and quite high. I don't think people need dig deep for reasons why.

It’s interesting you’re focusing on this considering I listed other reasons. What are you even trying to accomplish with this reply other than inane blather.

It’s nice that the internet exists as bastion for stupid ideas and stupid comments. Well done.
The fact that you are defending the claims is something else.

I actually think the one about his Dad living in the area has the most merit, everyone of the other reasons was flat out ridiculous.

Again, he may end up in Colorado, but I guarantee it won't have to do with him playing against MacKinnon in the 2013 Calder Cup and losing against him. Or because he wants to join 3 other top 10 picks from his draft class. I know Sakic helping him learn to skate isn't gonna make a difference. And since he wants to go to a contender, he's not going to have pressure on him as a #1 D on any team he's going to be traded to.

Well, the goal would be to get at least one NHL calibre player back
If a contender is trading for him I don’t think they would be giving up much for help right now, probably picks or prospects.
I think if they could get a 60ish point winger to play with Bedard it would help him develop and relieve some of the pressure.

unless the plan to make a big splash in the UFA world this year which I believe may very well be the case. If the hawks can find a trade partner for Jones they should consider it.

You would have thought that Jones would have brought it against his ex team and continue on his recent streak of solid play. Nope. Back to sleepwalking. Besides killing the first powerplay unit, he finished w 1 shot, 0 blocks, 0 hits, 0 takeaways, and 3 giveaways and was a suprisingly only -1.

I really thought he was going to continue to bring it but looks like the shock of being boo'd has worn off and he is back to the same old Seth.

I would say take him off the first power play but the short term goal is to trade him so I guess we are stuck w him on that unit.

Yep. Jones is a 2013 draft pick. He is 30 already and turning 31 in Q4 this year. Chicago is looking like another 2-3 years out of the PO unless either they make some moves to add players or a couple of their prospects hit earlier when they arrive in the NHL. After 2-3 more years, Jones is going to be like 33 and down to 2 years left on his contract. Probably not as much appetite for a $9.5 mill cap charge (even with a $100 mill plus cap) as he'd likely be past his prime years come 2028. Thus, the desire to move now vs later as it would give the new a couple of good years (that's the hope at least).

Haven't followed him much these past couple of seasons.
You really think the hawks will be in the playoffs in 2-3 years? I’d say 5-7 years until playoffs. Have you seen that roster? They’ll need time to draft and develop unless they get a huge free agent signing that might just make them a bubble team. They need to hope for a Matthew’s / mcdavid type player ( very good very early ) to propel them out of this abyss.

3 years is a best case scenario. And that is with them having other prospects hit right away (like how Faber/Sanderson did for their clubs). But, will likely take them signing a couple of UFAs to get it turned around.

I don't think the GM now can afford to "tank", so the days are intentionally setting up a bottom 3 roster to start the season are basically over after this season. He's already had to fire a HC.
