You really think the hawks will be in the playoffs in 2-3 years? I’d say 5-7 years until playoffs. Have you seen that roster? They’ll need time to draft and develop unless they get a huge free agent signing that might just make them a bubble team. They need to hope for a Matthew’s / mcdavid type player ( very good very early ) to propel them out of this abyss.
“They’ll need time to draft”

I get you may not be a Hawks fan but then why enter a Hawks thread without trying to educate yourself first?

In the past three drafts Chicago has had:
8 - 1st round picks with two more this year.
5 - 2nd round picks with two more this year.
8 - 3rd round picks with one more this year.

The drafting began a few years ago, many of those players have begun to make their way through the system an will be joined by many more in another season or two.

And yes, they also have a ton of cap space moving forward to go big game hunting in free agency.

Jones already stated theat he would waive his NTC and would be willing to go back to Clumbus to play with Werenski. He wants out badly and wants to play in the playoffs which could be any of the 10 to 12 teams or so that are playoff bound.
what does that have to do with Pittsburgh?

The idea is not having to retain any money, younger and getting back a better fit on the back end.
I get the idea. I disagree with the idea.

I get taking on Jones and asking another team to retain on Karlsson would not get as much. I would rather the Penguins retain on Karlsson and get assets if we are only getting Jones.

Just my opinion

I think it is more he realized he has worn out his welcome here and the fams amd mdia have turned on him.

Gives less than full effort more nights than not, it is his own fault

IMO Logical Options-

Columbus
Dallas
Florida
Colorado

Longshots

Ottawa
LA
Toronto
Detriot
Tampa

Rantanen decision comes 1sts and then teams will start to make moves. You would figure Florida Dallas or Colorado would want him for a playoff run this year Columbus shouldnt matter going into the offseason.
