Anyone seen Knight talk about this trade? I want to see where he’s at. Imagine he’s pretty bummed but maybe excited to be the guy? I don’t know.

So does this guarantee we draft schaefer if we land the #1 overall?
This has no impact whatsoever on who the Hawks decide to draft

Don't think he's spoken to the media yet.

But I imagine he'll be in Chicago tomorrow so I'd expect the media to talk to him.

Good trade, let’s hope Levshunov lives up to his draft pick position and we get a first overall this year so we can start winning again.

Moving Seth doesn't change anything draft wise. First, Schaefer is a LHD. Second, Hawks have invested quite a lot in defenders in the past several drafts already (Korchinski, Rinzel, Levshunov). We don't need to go with another D in the first round this year unless its BPA.

This..umm...this is maybe the most positive post you've ever made here. Definetly a sign of how much everyone here hated Seth Jones.

When a good move is made I say it’s a good move, people think I just hate for no reason or to troll but it’s just criticism of what I anticipate will be a bad move down the line. Back to this I can’t believe he got it done and a good return too. Gotta give him props where it’s due.

Wow. Getting genuinely positive value when only given one destination is phenomenal

What a BITCH man, I just can't with this guy.

He comes out publicly saying he will facilitate trades so HE can finally win... A yeah but only to the sunny Florida champs and his crush Dallas.

I'm so beyond happy he's gone and I don't have to see him in the sweater I root for.

A selfish person and a dumb hockey player. Good riddance. Our team is in so much better of a position going forward.

Well done KD for extracting this much while being given this shit of a hand.

Yep. He wanted out so badly he went public with his comments and pissed off people in the organization (and some teammates according to Pat Boyle) and then he is only willing to waive for two teams? It's a miracle that Davidson was able to facilitate a trade to one of them.

He wanted to make it public to force the Hawks to trade him to one of those teams, with us retaining whatever was necessary and getting whatever trash in return. He didn't give a shit about how much this could've f***ed us over, he just wanted out.

And this guy wanted the C back in September. Goodbye asshole.

That Laz take is just awful. What a complete over simplification.

Florida drafted Barkov and Ekblad. Got insanely lucky with Forsling.

Colorado drafted their 1D and 1C.

Tampa drafted a significant portion of their core.

Like what point is he trying to make here? Obviously at some point the hawks will need to make hockey trades.(you know, like the one they just made)

But you aren’t going to trade for and sign a cup roster. That’s not how it works.

And to give the trade a C is next level attention whoring.

This is why you NEVER trade for a player who wants off their current team.

I don't want anymore players with Dany Heatley syndrome to play for this franchise ever again. They just turn around and do the exact same thing to you.

Was the 2026 4th roubd pick Florida receives from the Hawks in this draft the higher or the lesser of the 2 2026 4ths Hawks had or do tge Hawkscretain the option which to give them ...ie. was it already designated as the Hawks own 4th or designated as the 4th from Ottawa that Hawks owned.

I am guessing Hawks retain the option to provide the lesser of the 2 picks unless Florida stated it must be the higher (better) pick of that 4th round.

Ummm he is going from a Stanley Cup winning team to one of the worst teams in the NHL. He is going from absolute stud defensive teams to one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL. From one of the best run organizations to one of the current worst run or From Florida to Chicago...not sure anyone would be jumping for joy.

You don't necessarily think like a hockey player.

If I am Knight, I'd view it as young team, with a lot of assets and some very promising young players. An opportunity to be a starting goaltender in the NHL. A team with a lot of cap flexibility and an opportunity to get paid as a bonafide NHL starting goaltender. No longer stuck behind a guy like Bob who has to play a majority to justify his $10.5M.

Is the weather worse here? Sure. You're still an early twenties millionaire living in one of the best cities on the planet. You have access to the best parts of everything.

Knight can make a name for himself and become OUR guy as this team moves forward. He is 23 years old and could theoretically be a Blackhawk for the next 10-15 years. If he is good, he will help the team be good, and can be a part of something special.

Really hopeful that it pans out, but yes, goalies are voodoo.

He's going from back up to potentially starting role. He's a pro athlete..take it and go.

Is Seth Jones a hockey player? Is Taylor Hall a hockey player? Do you think the players on Florida have more fun and enjoyment playing for Florida than the players who are on the Blackhawks? I guarantee the guys on the Blackhawks are miserable and want this season to end. Are they hockey players? Is there an opportunity for Knight here sure - but he was already being paid $4,500,000 and had no pressure on one of the best teams in the NHL living in Florida (no income tax as well). Chicago is a young team but is still many, many years away from even sniffing the playoffs. As a hockey player I would want to make the playoffs. Just saying. I am not sure any goalie on this planet right now would want to play for the Blackhawks. Do you think Soderblom is enjoying life? Mrazek? A few months ago everyone wanted to send Soderblom to the moon. Today people want to cut Mrazek or put him on waivers. Sounds fun.

I get what you're saying, but just feel it is different.

Jones and Hall need opportunity to win. They've made the money and have had a career. In Jones' case, his career is basically guaranteed with that last contract. He needs to WIN.

Knight needs an opportunity to carve out a career. He has made some money, sure, but he has also already won. The kid needs an opportunity to be THE guy and carve out a long and successful NHL career.

Once again you are ignoring the main benefit of coming here for knight. Established starting players don’t apply to this situation as comparable.

He's on a team that can offer him a nice contract while being a starter.

Knight already makes $4,500,000 which is more than Mrazek already. Blackhawks are going to have sign Soderblom as well and I doubt the Blackhawks are going to pay huge money for a goalie right now.

Winning team...stanley cups....Florida weather...no income tax...great team....great defense...making starter money

vs

losing team...not close to playoffs...Chicago weather...high taxes...awful team...awful defense..making starter money

I know which one I choose.

Willing to be Knight is chomping at the bit at this opportunity to be a full time starter.

Sounds like you just don’t have that competitive drive to be your best or a belief in yourself that you can be.

4.5 million a year lol. Willing to bet he believes he will make double that.

Also I could give a f*** about knights feelings. Why are you hung up on them?

Im assuming he is a competitive professional who will do his job and tackle this opportunity. Something Seth Jones wouldn’t do.

Where on earth do you think that Knight is worth $9,000,000 a year? $4.5m is a massive overpayment based on his production and may be one of the worst contracts in the NHL up to this point for value.

Your reading comprehension is very poor. What I said is I believe that he believes he will be that guy in the future and is looking to prove himself to be.

Problem is, that choice is not available to you or him. Knight does not have a no move in his contract. He plays where he is told to play. Right now it's on the rebuilding Blackhawks.
