I actually don’t mind seeing lists that are not copy pastes of everyone else’s. Once I’m really familiar with a subject, the lists that are different often give me in a peek into the actual person and I enjoy that more than a the rigid “this one has to be inside the top 10 or you’re uneducated” dogma.

That said, remember this when touting the prestige of the Lindsay over the Hart because the players “know”, “actually play the game” and whatever ever nonsense people say, as if they’re not merely fellow humans with their own biases, agendas, and simply lack of knowledge or even caring.

The list suffers a bit from recency bias, eh? Or maybe it would have helped if players such as Orrakov, Howakov and Lemieuxski had played in the NHL.

No Mario makes zero sense. He picked guys he played with/against which is reasonable. However, Fedorov played in the league when Mario was the shit and dominated more than any other player on the list minus Gretzky.

Ovy isn't even a top 10 player all time. Greatest goal scorer sure, but the rest of his game fell way off after his dominant first 4-5 seasons. I like him more than Crosby, but Crosby is a much better all around player.

Also, I love Datsyuk, but he is not a top 10 player ever. He is probably in the 40-50 range maybe lower.

They're both top 10 players, imo, Dats was special but not at their level. But, unlike Sergei, I never played with or against any of them. Being a Russian, of his age, I doubt he watched many older players.

Fedorov is far more entitled to make one of these lists than any of us. Most qualified HFBoards member to make such a list is Brian Savage, and he hasn't posted in a long time.

If he’s making a list and not including Mario Lemieux I’d say he’s not qualified to make a list at all.
