Why? It’s his opinion and it’s a reasonable selection.

Is it top 5 players who played post lock out or were an all time bad head coach?

Not mad he didn't include Mario but definitely confused. Fedorov did enter the league in 91 so he did miss most of Mario's healthy years but he was around for the repeat, 93 96 & 97. Guess you could argue longevity and greatness but then you have Datsyuk.. No big deal either way but pretty interesting.

Fedorov is far more entitled to make one of these lists than any of us. Most qualified HFBoards member to make such a list is Brian Savage, and he hasn't posted in a long time.
I've heard enough ghastly takes from current and former players that I don't think we can just give a guy credibility just because he played the game at a high level.

If Sergei Fedorov says it I have no choice but to believe him

Edit: but Datsyuk over Makarov is crazy work

I actually agree with all but obviously Lemieux. The immortality of Orr and Howe needs to slowly die and we recognize they played in a different universe of hockey.

He obviously puts a lot of stock into longevity and health so cant hate on it that much. Nice to see Jagr get the respect he deserves.

How do you not include Mario especially when you played against him in his prime ?
Not healthy enough. Same with Orr. Its a valid argument for both. Lemieux had his obvious health issues and Orr retired at 30. Both are huge woulda coulda shoulda's, where his list are guys that were for the most part always healthy.
